So let’s discuss sequel. I keep hearing rumours they want the next one out as early as next year.
What do you guys wanna see in it? What should the bad guy be? Are we even ready for Lex as the main villain yet, or just making his first appearance and meddling a little?

Lex is a given. They should put in another villain for Superman to punch. I’m fine with Parasite, Metallo or Livewire being that villain
We know that the Luthor in this universe is the tycoon version of the character. We might not see him get his hands dirty, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be a player.
Brainiac might be interesting. He and Luthor have worked well as a combo a bunch of times.
If Luthor’s around, that also opens the door for Bizarro, but that wouldn’t really cover any ground that wasn’t already covered in this movie. Hey, guys, here’s a version of Superman with all his powers but none of his reason or compassion… again.
They could get crazy with it and not have a supervillain, but I somehow doubt that they’d ever risk that. It would be incompatible with the direction that this movie went in.
They most definitely need to use Brainiac in a future movie, I’d be nice to see him get some live-action love.

never gonna happen…we get brainiac and luthor. i can see brainiac being retconned to someone being the machines that were on krypton…it was the first time i heard of them and honestly thought they might be brianiac in disguise.
i only want braniac if they do him as the humongous robot city destroying version from DKSA
The servitors debuted in the Byrne books from the 1980s, and there were machines like them in previous comics as well. They’re just computer-controlled servant robots.
That isn’t to say that the movies couldn’t change that, but I’d kind of prefer that they avoid the whole STAS “Brainiac-as-Kryptonian-AI” thing. It’s a great idea, but they’ve already been to that well before with Zod. If every super-level threat to Earth is Kryptonian in origin, it’s going to paint Superman’s presence on Earth in a negative way.

For the next villian I say go with Lex as a behind the scenes villian “accidentally” creating guys like Metallo and Parasite and having them go after Supes. End it alluding towards Brainiac for a 3rd movie or JLA
or bizzarro as a failed lex attempt to clone supes
Yeah I’d rather see Brainiac remain a former Colu who due to a crime is trapped in a robotic body.
I think Brainiac should be next, as it allows for Earth to view Superman as a necessity to prevent other aliens from fucking up the noob Earth.
And just have him a Colu who augmented himself, and is in possession of Kandor. Get Lex involved in the background, and learning about Kryptonite and his inability to see through lead, and all that jazz. Save Lex for like Supes 3, after they do Justice League.
if it was a kryptonian brianiac it would also leave the door wide open for luthor’s smear campaign against superman. clearly people want angsty supes and part 3 would be emo fuckin superman.
I was about to say the same thing. I want to see something different instead of Luthor once again being the villain. Darkseid would be interesting.
Metropolis is a pile of ash and wrecked building at the end of this movie. Luthor has more than enough for a smear campaign.
not to get too off topic from what you said, but arent there current running theories that the amazonians and atlanteans are of kryptonian origin? im not sure if thats been addressed in the comics at all, and also side note, im finna to pound through some new 52 shit this week. bam
also, like i said before, brainiac would be dope. you get lex, supergirl, kandor, ultraman, and brainiac all in one movie, and it wouldnt be OD at all. it would be perfect, and it only takes about 5 minutes of googling the top 5 requested arcs for man of steel 2 to see that brainiac is the easiest and best choice.
for them to want to stream line man of steel 2, there must be some marvel shit in the works something heavy that they dont want to compete with, plus i think for a movie like man of steel, it would be kinda dope to go the route of, the hobbit, and just drop dem cash earners one after another.
im sure the script is already done for the most part. you just have to torture kavil again with the workouts, but he wont complain when that 6 million dollar check after taxes and everyones cut comes in the mail. if they are willing to try to stream line man of steel 2 for a 2014 release, they would have to start like, now or august, and talk about working overtime.
i just hope the quality of the movie doesnt suffer from the rushing, but all the man of steel actors have been chilling for a while. its about time they get to acting,and i wouldnt be shocked if this is just a marketing move, and a lot of scenes for man of steel 2, if not all are already done, and theyre just trying to hype people up about fast filming it. probably just show up somewhere to film a few scenes for a couple months, get to editing, drop a trailer for the superbowl or new years, and then flop that bad boy out next summer.
superman is nowhere strong enough to deal with darkseid…i dont think he or humanity could deal with something like that. i feel like he’s best saved for down the line when superman is stronger…or justice league movie.
