Kneel Before SRK - The Man of Steel Movie Thread

Yep, since Nolan is on board there is a good possibility we will get a cameo, or atleast some reference to the other superhero’s existence

do explain

Well if he could lift a whole island of it…

It was a very sunny day…

I wanna know if they’re carrying over the storyline from the last movie. I recall somebody saying that the Kryptonite Island become New Krypton in space…

Makes a decent base for Zod

Why didn’t he chuck it into the sun like he did with the nukes, why would you leave it there for the next bad guy to find

I would love to see a movie with Metallo. He would not require too much explaination and superman can fight him. It would also be cool since he murders without hesitation so the movie could be a bit darker.

It’s space, it just needs a little push.

I’m actually more interesting in what happens with his son.

*side note, what’s up with you Americans letting us Brits take up all your leading roles lol.

Batman, Kickass, Superman etc

hahahahah

The accent makes you sound smarter than us.

lol jim lee thinks its revenge for sherlock holmes

The new movie will not be connected to the previous movies. In fact, I think the whole impetus for suddenly taking this project off the back burner was so that they could go back and tell the story from the beginning before losing the story rights to the old Superman comics.

British people are uncannily good at playing American characters. For further reference, see: every Christopher Nolan movie.

I don’t read too many comics, but am going to express my opinion anyway, because I like to hear myself talk. Plus most people who go to the movies are lay people like me. We don’t read comics, our knowledge is just based off of pop culture.

I do not like the whole idea of superman. He’s just boring. Goody two shoes invincible hero. His alter ego Clark Kent also seems 1 dimensional. They’re the same fucking person. Ok who gives a shit? Where’s the challenge? Kryptonite as a weakness sounds totally contrived. Compare this to Peter Parker, who gets shitted on ALL THE TIME in real life, and who as a super hero isn’t the strongest or fastest. He’s not the best in any category. He even has to make his own web fluid. Dude has to rely on his wits to survive. You genuinely care for the poor guy.

I mean, superman was so boring that they had to kill the guy off. Let’s invent this completely new villain that’s super powerful, just so we can get rid of superman, who is too strong for his own good. Talk about contrived. The only way Doomsday could have been more contrived was if his fists were made of kryptonite. Maybe they were, I dunno, I don’t really read comics…

lol fishjie you have personality.

I can agree about Superman. Fun Fact: kryptonite was only created so that the radio narrators could get a break and also get more people to listen in to the next show.

I was almost thinking about setting you straight, but then I got distracted by all the spaces you use. God damn, there must be four of them between every sentence. It’s baffling.

It was actually because Bud Collyer, the voice of Superman, was overworked and needed a vacation. The only way this could happen was to KO Superman for a couple episodes.

You can make anything sound stupid when you reduce it long enough. ''So wait, you’re trying to get me on board with a story about a bunch of GM cars that turn into robots to fight a giant pistol that is also a robot??"

Weird, I try to stick with two spaces between sentences, and one space between words.

^ I agree with fishjie. At least Zod can create some measure of conflict due to him being a fellow Kryptonian. And with Nolan producing the legitimacy of this project goes up exponentially.

DId the Hulk beat Superman?

The problem with all this talk about needing a villain who can fight superman to create conflict, is that 99% of the time in hero fiction-- the only conflict is that the hero hasn’t yet fought the naughty lad, and the resolution is that he will.

The Dark Knight is objectively one of the most popular comic book films, we can all agree on that (Even if you dont actually like it). Was the Joker capable of fighting Batman hand to hand, or was he interesting because his motivations and actions were?
