Yup, it certainly is weird. But luckily it’s only a 1 frame window, so unless someone has that rhythm hardwired into their brain, it shouldn’t happen that often…

So that is only required to kara ex specials and supers, not when trying to kara regular specials? Also, i take it whenever you cancel a normal to an ex then, you should always hold the cancelled normal.

Correct, you don’t need to hold down the button to Kara normal specials or non-EX supers.

Well, holding the button will keep the problem from ever happening, sure, but letting go of the button early also makes it so this problem never occurs.

As I said ^, unless someone is so use to doing certain EX cancels the same way, every time, adjustments on the timing shouldn’t be that difficult. You have a fairly large window to input specials, so the only scenarios where I can see this issue taking place are either the obvious one, where you hold the button until the same frame you input the special, or where I would hope this issue lies… A slight execution error, where you brush a finger along another button the frame before the special is input.

ex. Ryu: cr.Forward :qcf: (Roundhouse)~ 2P+)Roundhouse(, in this situation, EX won’t come out as the Roundhouse was released on the same frame as the 2P input.
