typically i’ll use the down jab as early as possiable and down down x2 punch it will work may 20% of the time any suggestion?
anyone have a video of the dash kkz i have never seen it used before.

Still one down input after the dash…
On this method are you inputting the first down before the lk.tatsu finishes?
you input it just before the lp so you can see him crouch for a sec. i do it that way. probably can be done differently

lol I’ve been pressing D,D,D after the s.lp the whole time. I guess my method is alot easier on pad then stick.
I use it often after air resets, especially against throw whores.
(it’s only something that u want 2 use in 2nd or 3rd round for the win or take big life off.)
I was practicing this a lot tonight. and one thing that really helped me was to set the dummy to Human. I then plugged in another stick and used my foot to hold back. That way the dummy wouldn’t block c.mk but would block the KKZ if I was off (naturally this became trying to parry SA.I with my foot).
It also helped to break it into chunks, first making sure I was fine with :c.mk -> lk.tatsu -> lp, then working on adding the d+d+pp. Still not 100%, but getting there :lovin:
HAahahAH!! you can set you dummy to autoguard, then it will only block if something is not a combo (example, links, mistaken chains, etc)
I had it on autoguard and it was blocking the c.mk. Well whatever, I had fun :looney:
Don’t attack it right after wake up. The dummy will guardfor the first few frames on wake up when set to auto-guard
The timing is a little tricky when i first learned it. Normally you exicute the command as the hit connects but with this i wait for gouki to get in normal position; like duds OH into SA
hey i finally executed the reset for the first time by using an idea from some tekken tutorial video i stumbled upon (something about an “instant shining wizard”):
the guy was able to do :f: :f: :f: really fast by using 4 fingers to tap forward, then his thumb to tap forward, then his 4 fingers to tap forward again. so i thought this could be applied to kkz and i tried it out; just use the above technique, except press down each time. this also helps with dash kkz…you just start doing the input during the dash. basically for me it’s just a much faster way than pressing down three times with my 4 fingers, so it helps with all kkz execution, not just for the reset, and it also seems to be pretty consistent.
Pretty cool discovery thanks!
Hope this is not a silly question.
I’ve been able to get the KKZ reset recently but it seems to be doing too little damage. I think I get 7 hits on a shoto. Did around 50 damage from a cr.mk into lk.tatsu, etc. Am I hitting with the st.lp too late?
Help!??
You mean 50%? That’s pretty much the damages it is supposed to do (a little more than 50% on ryu).
Should be 8 hits though.
Got the 8 hit KKZ after reset on Ryu today, whoop!! The damage for that 8 hits was 56 in training mode and as you mentioned ESN, the whole thing seemed to do a little over 50% life.
In this video below it seems that Pherai connected for 9 hits and got 87 damage for the KKZ alone! That’s a lot of damage for one extra hit. Doesn’t look like he was doing any kind of kara either. So just do the downs faster or hit them with the jap while they’re higher in the air or what?
I’m a little skeptical of that vid tbh lol.
I remember back in the day I think Naz said the character might have fallen, I dunno. To this day I’m not really sure…
Yeah, pretty sure Ryu was not in air, which would explain damages and the 9 hits.
You can check by doing the b’n’b + LP, wait some seconds and then do kkz. Should be the same amount of damage than in this vid.
That makes perfect sense. Thanks guys.

Pherai troll’n youtube with a KKZ hoax, lol.
