Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Nope PS3, demo froze on me too:tdown:

Fuck!
Say PS3 Slim then, because those have less memory.
I’m still rocking the 60GB Phat with a 320GB HDD now.

 fucking shit froze again, man this is some bullshit, not playing until I know I can play more then 30 minutes without the game freezing on me.

Demo? Or the real game?

Should have got that shit on the PC man. Ive had that shit running since 12 midnight on release and it hasnt froze yet. muahahahaha I couldnt tell you if letting a game run for so long on my PC is good…

P.S. This game is pretty dope. I still havent gotten that far but Im really enjoying it. I love the colors. Im so tired of games that are so dull. I need more games like this that are just…full of vibrant colors. Its great.

Hey drizzt, would you recommend a controller for this game on PC? Or will combat still be good shiz on mouse and kb?

real game

I use a controller for the most part. I use the mouse and keyboard for going through the menus. This kind of game just wouldnt feel right playing on a keyboard.

This game is AMAZING!

I normally dont like western rpg’s but this has a really good story so far and the world feels so fleshed out I that its staggering at times. I seriously cant even get into the main quest I just keep running side quests. the crazy thing is all the side quests are awesome.

I’m on ps3 and basically have had the game on since last night and no freezing at all.

I played the demo earlier was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t look twice at this game when I initially saw the demo was out because 1. McFarlane is a hack 2. I don’t like Elder Scrolls at all. This seemed really good though, a blend of DA meets God of War with a Warcraft art style. I’ll probably keep my eye out for a price drop since I don’t really want to drop any coin on a game if I end up getting Twisted Metal next week, but this seems really solid.

I am loving the shit out of this game so far. I’m running a Finesse/Sorcery Shadowcaster build using Feyblades and Chakrams. Feyblade Psycho Crushers all day! Shadow Flare is pretty amazing at tearing through Trolls, too, since at point blank range all 5 projectiles are going to hit it for big damage. I also got my first Twist of Fate card (besides the one from playing the demo) and it works really well with my build.

quest for Twist of Fate Card

Spoiler

After finishing the boss battle at the end of the House of Ballads quest arc you get a Twist of Fate card that gives you +10% damage on Feyblades. I think there was another small bonus, but I don’t remember it.

There’s also a good set of Lorestones in the castle where this boss battle is. They are really easy to find and give you a small +% chance of critting (I think it was +3%).

Does anyone know if there’s a way to get rid of curses besides Healers? Because I really suck at dispelling chests and I’m still at the level where Healers are a bit expensive.

Day[9], a Star Craft caster/streamer/person, has been streaming this on his twich account (which I don’t have) but he got a chance to Skype with Curt Shilling and more importantly Todd McFarlane , and R.A. Salvator

Amalur starts off slow and maybe a bit sluggish, but it will grow on you soon enough.

The enviorments are absolutely gorgeous, and just wondering around can be serious eye-candy. NPC’s look god-awful, but it doesn’t distract from the overall quality of the game.

At first I thought the combat was meh, but after you get the hang of it it’s really a blast, especially after you start developing different strageties for different enemies. Stealth kills are AMAZING in this game. I’m about 10 hours in and enjoying the game emmensly, it’s definitely a keeper. Like I said in the beginning it’s kinda dry and may come off as bland, but once you dive deeper into the world and aquire new skills it becomes borderline addictive. A very, very solid western-style RPG. Anyone who’s on the fence about this I’d recommend getting it. Fantasy RPGs are in short supply now days (at least on console) and it’s good to know someone can still make an epic one.

Although kinda hack-and-slashy and dry in the beginning, it’s well worth the money.

Not that I’ve found yet.

The female gnome who runs the shop in Gohart has potions for diseases, but nothing for curses. However, I just went to the elf healer in Gohart Inn and after she cured me of a curse I was granted curse immunity for a short while. Pretty sweet.

I’m 90% sure you gotta see a healer to get rid of curses. At first I thought you could make a potion for it like disease just that it would be a greater or master crafted potion, sadly thats not the case unless its very hard to find.

The only problem I have with this game is they have no method to switch out weapons quickly if your character wants to rely on 3 weapons. I really like the finesse strength destiny idea so I wanted a character who used a long sword and bow to skirmish and daggers to sneak attack when he could. Kinda kills my focus to go in and switch back and forth when they could have easily just set it up so the L2 button had mapped weapons on it.

Curses are ambigious and must be taken care of by a Healer, prepare to drop 1K+ in gold to fix yourself up. I randomly got a mana drain curse. Despite being labelled as a disease and a curse, my cure all disease didn’t work.

Also I enjoy the game, but it’s very much an MMO grind, and I haven’t come across one boss yet that wasn’t just complete ass. Someone tell me there is an epic big boss fight at some point in this title.

I fucked up taking every quest. Took a quest to steal something from my faction, and I got caught. I ended up having to kill the whole faction.
Two of them didn’t stay dead, so they must be part of the story later.

After that fuck up, I created a new save in case I don’t like how that plan turned out. 6 hours in,and I haven’t even started on main quest. I’m level 5 I think.

There might be…
