Kingdom Hearts *new thread link in OP*

How do you enter in that Hades Parallax Cup?

I’m at level 99 and have beaten Seph.

About the secret ending:

Remember when one of the Organization members said something about the Keyblade choosing a weak one this time?

I’m fairly certain you have to have all drive forms and summons maxed out; I didn’t do it myself yet, but that’s what I have been hearing.

Is that seriously it for optional bosses/quests? I know it’s still early and the GameFaqs kids playing 24/7 haven’t fully cracked it yet.

Apparently, that’s it; once you get to a certain point in the game, all the options are shown in Jimminies Journal.

Yes. For Hades Paradox you have to have Summon and all Drives (including Final) at max. Trust me, you WILL need it.

 So I gathered from what I have read in the last few posts.

It’s hard going back and playing KH1 because the face mannerism aren’t even a tenth of what they are on KH2; imagine watching someone talk and having their bottom lip only move up and down.
I’m not dependant on graphics in any way, it’s just an observation.

Me and my friend ( ibow2no1 ) just beat it. I killed Seph, it was fun as hell. I also got Sora and his posse to level 99. ( which is funny when you get to like level 80 and it starts raining bubbles )

The last boss fight was really cool, ending movie, not so cool.

We both agreed that Donald and Goofy looked really creepy in 3D. The ending movie also had a twinge of gay in it between Riku and Sora.

Cool game overall, I give it a 8 out of 10.

so i finally got the ultima weapon. have been leveling up at pride rock for 45 min. grew 7 levels. tried to fight seph, got my ass handed to me in 3 hits

I agree with you, VS. Even though I found Sephiroth harder in KH2 than I did in KH1, I still really enjoyed figuring out his patterns and defending against them; too bad you only get to fight him once:sad:
8/10 is an accurate rating; overall, I enjoyed 2 over 1; it was is a great game, but by no means perfect.
I thought the ending movie pulled together the game nicely. Did you get the secret ending?

I tried for two whole hours at level 73; I got close a few times, but mostly had my ass creamed in, too. I got to level 83 and it took my three tries:tup:

Nah, my friend was too lazy.

We just Googled it. It’s weird.

Like the 6th time I fought Sephiroth it just clicked, I was blocking all his attacking and going blow for blow. That was a really really fun fight.

The graphics in this game are amazing considering it’s on the PS2. I just wish I didn’t have to sit through 300 cutscenes.

Agreed; the cut scenes can get a little tedious; thankfuly you can skip them. I wish I could say the same for KH1…

ENDGAME SPOILERS. You’re warned!

You know what I just realized? The Thousand Heartless battle was gimped from the get-go. The Organization just had to pick the two Heartless whom Sora could Reaction multi-kill attacks from. I bet that decision went something like this:

Saix: LOL. Sora’s gonna get his ass kicked by all of these guys, amirite?

Demyx: Um…I dunno. Do you really have to bring out those robot lantern guys? What’s to stop Sora from just using their lazers to slaughter the rest of them? Can’t we just send a thousand of those Fatasses? That would be tough.

Saix: Demyx… you’re a pussy. You can’t fight worth a shit. You have a pussy haircut that went out of fashion with Saved by the Bell. Your opinions aren’t needed or wanted.

Demyx: …goddammit.

Yeah, had they sent out a thousand of those Fatasses, Sora would’ve been FUCKED, for real.

You know, this game’s philosophy of light and dark needs some consideration. Now, I know that during Chain of Memories and KHII, darkness is depicted as a scary, but necessary agent in existence. Despite that, the games do paint darkness as an evil, malicious intent. Isn’t that further from the truth though? The whole “light and dark” concept was derived from Neoplatonism. Plotinus thought, and this is derived from Plato, later adopted by Aristotle and integrated into Christianity, that all physical existence eminated from a force called The One. The One is perfect, but all objects that eminate from The One have only small portions of it in them. The One serves the same purpose as light in Plato’s thinking; light is a force which unifies all singular objects and beings. Darkness is whatever gap is used to fill in the essense of an object that is imperfect. Aristotle then replaced “The One” with God, and “Darkness” with evil.

That’s a bit of a misnomer though. Evil isn’t the malicious destructive force it’s commonly thought to be, but it’s merely just the absense of complete good. Now, what does this have to do with Kingdom Hearts? And with life in general? We come to the conclusion the Light is the essense which seeks to unify individuals with the greater existence. Dark is the essense which does the opposite; it unifies an individual itself. In order for a person to feel complete and balanced, he would have to dwell in the darkness of his psyche, deal with whatever feelings of disconnect and discontent he has, and emerge unscathed. Dark, thus, serves that very important purpose.

Our goal in life is to master our light, and feel at one with the universe and with people; and to master our darkness, and feel at one with ourselves. Kingdom Hearts alludes to this but doesn’t ruminate on it, save for the Riku side story of Chain of Memories. Coming to terms with our darkness is part of the psychology behind the folk tale Iron Hans. Iron Hans was a story about a young prince venturing into the wilderness and meeting a wild man named Iron Hans because of the rust-like color of his wild hair. The underlying moral is that in order to proceed through life, we must all confront and accept the lessons taught by our own inner wild man.

Unfortunately, and this is probably due to the contemporary Western conception of Light and Dark and Good and Evil brought to the table by Disney movies, Kingdom Hearts never suggests that there can be too much Light in a person’s being. If Sora remains adament to dwell in only the Light, he will become no better a person than Maleficent or Xemnas.

Speaking of Xemnas, his spouting of “Hatred is the ultimate emotion” just reinforces how clueless he really is. At the end of KHII, we see that Light and Darkness (Sora and Riku) must join forces to combat the essence of Nothingness. Yet, emotions like hatred, which Xemnas so enthusastically adheres to, do not represent Nothingness. That’s Darkness again. Darkness is the agent through which hatred comes from: hatred seeks to divide an individual against others. Hatred, ultimately, is another component of the psyche which has the purpose of unifying the fragments of the self together. It’s necessary. Not good, but an inevitable feeling that human beings share.

But Xemnas is firmly on the side of Nothingness. A proper being of Nothingness would be silent, actually, and seek only to eradicate existence without bias. Without sense. Xemnas just wants to play God.

Man, fuck you Square-Enix.

Beat Sephiroth on Proud Mode at level 75. Fenrir Keyblade + Explosion or Guardbreak + Negative Combo and no Combo Boost ability is pretty broken. You can basically stand in one spot and just spam Explosion, or for those Fat Fuck Heartless, Guardbreak their ass back and forth. Gonna try the Hades Paradox cup, battle #49 is supposed to be vs Cloud, Leon, Yuffie and Tifa. Sounds hawt hawt hawt

*** SPOILERS ***

Finished the game on Saturday. Awesome ending. And no, I didn’t think Sora and Riku had any hint of homosexuality in their exchanges. They’re close friends. Doesn’t automagically make them gay, especially since they BOTH have the hots for Kairi, which was proven in KH1 for Riku and KH2 for Sora. In fact, Sora got super-emotional anytime he saw a couple; he wants to find Riku because Riku’s his best chum, but I’m pretty sure the only asshole he wants to fuck is Kairi’s.

ANYWHO, that extra ending video is some trippy shit. “Keyblade War” eh? “Memories of Xehanort?” Good god hasn’t this series fucked up my brain enough!?

Bowling Pin: you’re my hero and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Nah Spec, All the “Helping each other up” and Sora constantly ALMOST grabbing Riku’s ass, that shit is gay.

^ Riku took a pretty brutal hit from that LIGHTSABER, let’s not forget. And, if I were helping you around, and thought that grabbing the BELT on your pants would help, I’d do it.

If that was a real lightsaber, Riku would be half the man he is today.

KH3 better be Next-Gen…

I thought Kairi would start beasting with that Keyblade. Instead, she just sort of treats the Keyblade like a flyswatter.
