Ok, the Jafar fight was really stupid. How do you actually dodge that stuff? I beat him, but only because I had HP and whatnot.
I couldn’t really figure out a trick to it, either. All I found out near the end is that his head isn’t the only thing you can attack.
By the way, am I the only one that thought Sora was going to learn Synch Blades from one of the Drive Forms? That was a little dissappointing…
WTF are you guys talking about?
Ice Titan was the xp grind for KH1.
Really? Do you get more experience from him? After I beat Sephiroth for the first time, he was easy to beat again and again. I just beat him about ten or so times and all characters were maxed out.
I found this Sephiroth harder than the first for some reason; however, if I had taken him on at level 99, he would have been nothing.
You just have to go at full speed with carpet it works but the carpet controls are pure crap.
As for the Ice titan in kh1 I believe he had the same xp as Sephiroth.
No, he was less. But he was way, way, way easier.
In the end, you came out with a lot of extra xp because teching the icicles that he shot gave you like 17xp each.
Well, I’m playing KH1 through again at the moment, so I will keep that piece of information in mind; thanks, Stabby.
Im about 5 hours through the first game again, and it’s bringing back memories of how challengin this game was in comparison to KH2.
im like right at the end now and the storyline has destroyed my mind
I agree, story-wise, this game was much better than the last.
'Tis Paradox Cup, both me and Infini screwed it up too.
Anyway, in reagrds to your question…everything and the kitchen sink. There’s the 1000 Heartless battle in one of the rounds, Cerberus in 48…and Cloud, Squall, Tifa AND Yuffie AT THE SAME TIME in 49. Oh yeah, did I mention you’re alone with no Drive or Summons?
Although truth be told, the FF team battle is actually kinda easy. In particular, Trinity Limit > FF characters…Sora is easily the new hotness when it comes to ass-kicking in a Square game.
SPOILERS
Well, Sora and Riku anyway.
END SPOILERS
I must be the only who thinks Sephy is harder in this one.
As far as the FF Team battle goes, I find it’s works best if you kill Tifa first, considering she’s invincible during most of her attacks.
Wow, this thread is still here.
Okay, now that I’m at the last boss (still have to beat him, though), I can post here again.
Played through the whole game on Proud mode. 'Twas AWESOME.
…how y’all doin’?
Well, when Infini did it he took out Cloud first. But I would think that if you’re going for a specific target in that fight, Yuffie’d be it. Bitch always tries to screw you over with her teleporting ginormous shuriken attack. Tifa’s also annoying when you’re trying to kill someone and she keeps running interference, but she sucks due to her slow-ass predictable attack speed (and the fact that Sora can deflect most of her attacks).
Squall’s the real asshole there; his fucking Fire Cross can peg you while you’re in the middle of fighting someone else (and kill you if you aren’t careful), and the goddamn Blasting Zone gives hm the range of God on his already powerful-as-all-hell attack chains.
And yeah, I thought Seph sucked in this one. Trinity Limits kick the crap outta him, and all his bullshit can be either dodged or countered, with the exception of that fire pillar attack and his air chains (if you get unlucky and can’t deflect one if your own attack). Descend Heartless Angel is garbage compared to Sin Harvest (which when I think about it, DHA could’ve been what Seph was actually saying in KH1), as it’s SLOW AS HELL and he can easily be taken out of it with a Glide Lv.3 + air combo.
Just beat the game, and going to go back to earn the secret ending.
Anyone know where all the Oricalcum+ are? I’m finding regular Oricalcum like crazy…I found 3 Oricalcum+ so far.
Playin’ catch-up with the thread (SPOILERS READ AT YOUR OWN RISK):
I thought I was the only one.
I’m convinced, but have no way of proving it, that Final form is unlocked once you go Heartless form just one too many times.
Demyx beat the crap out of me too (I was like five levels below what Hallow Bastion’s “battle level” reccomendation was at the time, too). I only gained one level before I won. A few stats won’t stop him from deleting your life bar like a weak pencil mark. You gotta watch his pattern, like a Megaman boss.
I didn’t use a single Limit, Drive, or Summon when I beat him either.
My brother thought it was getting rather Dragon Ball-ish
Sora ran up a freaking building and jumped over like 20 city blocks for cripes sake
My thoughts (SPOILERS, BIG ONES, SO SKIP THIS POST IF YOU DON’T WANNA READ 'EM):
- This game blows the first one away. Yeah, I said it. The combat feels smoother and less “against you” in this one, despite Proud mode kicking the shit out of me. Incorporating magic into combos = awesome.
- I thought I’d like the Valor form more (dual-wielding = too good) but really, I think I like Wisdom better for the magic beatdown and PEW PEW Keyblade Buster.
IMO: Final > Master > Wisdom > Valor
- Riku as your final party member = awesome beyond awesome
- Xemnas as the final boss = disappointing. I thought is was gonna be Roxas, and IMO it would’ve been better if it were Roxas.
- Picked sword-sword. Air combos = beastly. Magic = not that bad either. Donald > Goofy. Riku > the rest.
- Demyx and Xaldin were extremely hard. Haven’t fought Sephiroth yet. Scar was surprisingly tough but I beat him on my first try. The 1000 Heartless battle was easy as pie, though.
- The reaction commands were well done, BUT I wish more of them were more about TIMING and not MASHING. For example, the one during the first Xemnas fight (running up the building) was cool; mashing it did NOT get you the best result.
- Why does Ariel not remember Ursula? Jiminy’s journal remembers. :bluu:
- Proud mode is NUTS. Since I was trying to get through the story quickly, I rushed through the game, so I was underleveled to boot. Too much fun.
- Having played Chain of Memories is almost mandatory to understand the story. Almost.
- “The World That Never Was” (aka Deep Dive world) = one of the coolest final dungeons in a game. The music helps, too. Actually most of the music is top notch in this one, except for one of the boss themes (the one that plays for the giant heartless dragon in Mulan’s world and the giant heartless… thing in Simba’s)
Got some questions for y’all:
- To get the secret ending video, you have to beat the game on Proud, right? Is that the ONLY requirement?
- How many Drive forms are there? I have four. (Not counting the Heartless/Shadow form.)
- Does controllable Mickey only appear in Beast’s world? I only had him appear for me against the Heartless boss there and then against Xaldin.
Get that keyblade that lets you do consecutive combo finishers and it’s a wrap. (I think you get it after you beat Beasts’s castle the second time)
Negative Combo + Guard Break + Explosion = GGPO.
Also, a quicktip: if you’re having trouble with a boss that requires a combo finisher to beat (Certain bosses, once they hit like 1 HP, cannot be killed by regular weak Keyblade whacks) just nail him with a lightning bolt and the battle is over.
^_-;
^ The Rumbling Rose is the one you’re thinking of (it has innate Finisher Plus). Sora learns it on his own, too.
Also, if anyone has the original KH1, and has seen the final world of KH2… check out the KH1 box. Specifically, look at the setting and the moon…
Anti-Form random my ass.
I Anti’ed FOUR times in a ROW.
From then one, I Anti’ed twice in a row against BOTH Xigbar AND Saix…
I just noted something…
Xehanort is an anagram of NO HEART X
Maybe something to do with the Keyblade War…
-
Final Form can be gained at random, like the Anti Form, once you beat the Memory’s Skyscraper event at The World that Never Was.
-
Xehanort is either an anagram of NO HEART or ANOTHER.
-
Although the boxart of KH1 ended up becoming the same as the Deep Dive world, originally, this was not intended.
specs: Actually most of the music is top notch in this one, except for one of the boss themes (the one that plays for the giant heartless dragon in Mulan’s world and the giant heartless… thing in Simba’s)
WTF? That theme is one of the best in the game.
Here’s how to break the game and reach Level 99 immediately.
-
Go to the top of Pride Rock, where the yellow flying heartless keep respawning.
-
Fight them while you have the Gull Wing keyblade and the Experience Boost ability equipped. For those to work, you also have to be in Critical HP. Make sure to unequip all of your party members’ healing abilities, special attack abilities, and equip all the Jackpots/Draws you can.
-
If you’re in your 50s, cast Magnera to draw the “bees” closer to you. Kill at your whim. If you do have to heal, cast a Potion. That way you can get back to critical easier.
You will hit for about 168 EXP each kill, and these will be easy kills. Once your level reaches the late 80s, your Magnega will be strong enough to ONE SHOT KILL the heartless. At this point, just keep casting Magnega, killing Heartless, and you’ll make it to Level 99 in about 45 minutes (from the high 80s).
It’s an okay theme, don’t get me wrong, but the Disney Villain theme is superior IMO.
