- What’s a good kof site (the kof equivalent to dustloop, tekkenzaibatsu, i hate to put srk on here because this place is a shithole now)
- Do you guys use guilty gear notation (2,3,4, ABC) or SFIV notation (lk, mp, qcf, etc)
- Is there some sort of tier list out?

I prefer SRK now since most of the people that I originally didn’t like in the KOF Subforum moved to another KOF website. Our Wiki and resources are better anyways. We also have knowledgeable players such as Rogueyoshi on board as a Moderator so things should do well here. SRK KOF XIII Subforum will be pretty much starting its community from scratch and I prefer it that way.

Most people use common Western Notation (QCF, HCBF, etc.) but we refer to the face buttons as A (Light Punch), B (Light Kick), C (Heavy Punch, and D (Heavy Kick). Personally, I don’t mind Number Notation either as it’s pretty universal and it’s easier to describe things such as Vice’s air throw DM (4123692+P in air). Commonly when other people refer to KOF, it’s Western Notation.

For console version, no. Everything is a mixed up bag now with the balance adjustments, so even I can’t garner what possibly will be strong or not. Those coming from Arcade version should already be well acquainted with K’, Kula, Shen Woo, Raiden, Andy, Elizabeth, Kyo, Iori, and a few other characters that were some of the most popular characters due to their ease and damage output.
If you want a “KOF site” the answer you’ll be hearing is Dream Cancel or maybe even Orochinagi, but the best place for discussing KOF is either on #SNKP @ irc.efnet.net or here on SRK, despite what I’m sure Kane or The Answer may say otherwise after this post.
Notation for KOF tends to use traditonal SF-style motions for inputs (i.e. qcf or hcb) but button notation will always be displayed with A B C D. In KOF, the A button is a light punch, B is a light kick, C a heavy punch, and D inputs a heavy kick.
There was an older tier list for the arcade version of XIII, but the game system and all the characters have been tweaked. So no, this is a new beast and it’s far too early to be making a solid tier list.
well the game is finally on it’s way, another two weeks to my country at least… will tide myself over with forza in the meantime…

Oh, you like Takuma? Not sure if Gen was a charge character or not, but Leona and Ash are charge characters. Takuma’s only charge move is db~f+K which is a flying kick. Either way, you want to check out the SRK Hyper Guide. It’ll be a good beginner tool for learning some of the basics. Only thing I can say with Takuma is that some of his basic combos are a little harder to time. Doing a lot of damage with him requires a bit of practice.
As long as you got great execution with your moves and you’ve got patience, Takuma can be a really painful character. He’ll rip through people. His big weakness is anti-air, which he has none of, so try not to let someone jump in on you all the time.
Takuma’s flying kick also juggles opponents.
At the corner you could do:
HK flying kick–>LK flying kick (2 times?)–>Ranbu super.
wow … Gen is mix between charge and comand moves so i have no probem with that … to be honest i hate charge characters !! thats great for me nut please add me so i can play against you guys and learn some thing new !!
Did a quick test and Takuma’s corner combo-
Jumping C–>Cr. C–>HK flying kick–>LK flying kick x2–>Ranbu super
can knock off around half your opponent’s health.

Ha, that’s impossible. SNKP outright stated no ENG VAs because they wanted to give the pure KOF experience. And did you even play XII? Or the MI series? ENG dubs for KOF have always pure trash. Who the hell wants that?
