No spectator mode doesn’t bother me really. I’m usually surfing the net then.
It’s huge for me. I don’t like fighting the same player over and over, and I like playing with a group of friends. I also like to join large lobbies and have the game on in the background while I’m on the computer.
I just don’t get why games like HD Remix and BlazBlue can have sick online, and this new game can’t. I mean, hell, even KoF XII had spectator…
Maybe they used all their time on additional characters, stages, rebalance and an optimized online. All that should take priority over a spec mode that they could just throw in later.
I’m guessing it’s to keep the online as smooth as possible; I’m pretty sure spectators add to the lag somewhat.
Err, stages and characters should come before spectator mode? Nah. CHARACTERS can be patched in. Fucking with online code after release can go badly.
KoFXIII is already an amazing arcade game. It’s time to focus on what is going to make it an amazing console game.

Hopefully my arcade can run some KOF tourneys once this releases. Since there doing MK9 and MVC3 now, im sure it wont be a big problem. Just hope people sign up.

See this is something I have an easy solution for: Make it so waiting players in the lobby wait 5-10 seconds after a match started before they can watch the current match, that should resolve any lag issues that would affect the players currently playing
Spectators only needed for lobby, besides that match viewing can be stretched with other stuff like replay. Lobby will just need something for players in waiting to interact with. while some company allow arcade play through or training (only to host). I think snk should considered doing what they did for KOF Neo wave which allow one to do survival play through. Arcade mode is nice but it has an end and has to load other unnecessary stuff (special openings, cutscenes), training mode is endless but only at the players will. Survival settles both problems.
OK now this is interesting-
I’m guessing those 3 are gonna be in the game seeing how Heidern is talking to them and the 3 Ikaris aren’t around.

and of course seth is left out again. While I can understand Blue mary being fan favorite, But if going to throw teams I prefer they kept them in some perspective How did an member of team outlaw wind up with team of nest agents?
? In KoF XI, there was a Mary+Vanessa+Ramon team. Mary’s a police officer or some such, she only joined Billy’s team in 97 for some investigation or something.
I’m guessing SNK, much like other companies that make FGs don’t like black people. We get Ramon cuz he’s Vanessa’s love interest and that he’s a gringo luchador.

Since he has no presence in this saga i can cope with him being omitted. I also really just like how he played, if their a clone of him than I okay. (Elizabeth i think) But when heard about character never being in a KOF game I had other in mind. Either way they are great addition if they make the cut.
KoF XIII is the only game, outside of XII and the dream matches, to not introduce completely new playable characters (eg Oswald, Malin, etc.). So those 2/3 would fit the quota…along with Saiki.
Shit there’s no Arabs in Kof either they must hate them to lets not forget tribesmen in Papua new guinea to.

I hope not, i liked maximum impact i didn’t mind there characters, but i’d much rather have ones who had a bit more history behind them, thats why i’m hoping these 5 characters are ones that snk have not given the limelight to or have just plain forgot about like franco bash jubei rick sokaku hon fu, and so on, it’s the only way these characters can live on seeing as there respective series are dead, but i suppose if it aint old characters and it is new ones I wont grumble (much) only thing i find is that since around 99 some of snkp new chracters have been a bit on the dull side, in terms of both looks and play styles, some have been ok
