I would gladly pay for DLC characters =)
I rather pay for a character than costumes.
DLC is kind of a mandatory thing. I expect at least costume/color packs, maybe stage and characters as well.
It’s her alternate costume from Maximum Impact.
It’s like you and me are the only guys that just play the game lol.
I like how Iori fans are all “I don’t know what to think about this new Iori…”. If you actually knew how to play KOF, you’d realize the new Iori is a better O.Yashiro. I have some dirty resets and mix-ups with him that not even Japanese players are doing because it seems they lack an imagination or something.
no because dlc characters ruins the game in that every player may or may not have them available. you can choos wether you want outfits or not, unlike characters which should be available for everybody.
its pretty crazy there are people out there stupid enough to pay for ludicrous things like outfits, but paying for characters is beyond stupid imo. this isnt bb with its 12 characters, this is kof, we have all our characters when we want them. fuck paying.
for god sake, DLC chars are a good thing, they add more value to the game and more importantly you dont have to wait a fucking year with a revision to get them, besides nowdays you arent limited to get them in order to play against them, just look at bb, everyone has the chars on their data because they are included on the updates, so you are not obligated to buy them in orther to play against them
im totally in favor of dlc chars, and i welcome them
KOF Fan progression when a new game is announced:
New game is announced, everyone (KoF supposed hardcore, casuals, and other people) are excited about the possibilities and if this will finally bring SNK back to their former (Somewhat) glory.
Lack of information, some people leave, the “Hardcore” bitch about it.
Game drops, not what everyone expected, more people leave because a release date on consoles isn’t in sight. More fan bitching.
Dry period, only the most hardest of core remain interested despite Japan already figuring out most of the game. Pirating process begins here.
News of a console release, people come back to talk and get informed, people who remained around bitch about the ones who left and talk like they are the only ones ever who purchased an SNK game in America/Canada.
People argue, the lack of anything new or innovative leads to the usual wish listing and asking for information, older KoF people bitch about it.
Pirating complete! Game drops online and people rush to get it because they can’t wait a few months.
New news! KoF hardcore continue to bitch, assume everyone who is in the thread that isn’t them has no idea how KoF works or who makes it, proceeds to start trouble.
New people start trouble back.
Game drops, hardcore and normal fans alike don’t flock to get it on release. Pirating is easier/cheaper, no one but a few support the game. Bad news about the game usually leads into this (Netcode, crappy port, bad extras, etc.)
SNK loses money, people still bitch.
I’ve been playing SNK games for a while, I own most US released titles barring anything before Playstation (I even have the AoF collection, gig at me son), I was here in the “Good times” when we would all troll Dark Geese and Emil into pages long fights just for some lulz and to see if either would put their money where their mouth was. Hell I went to Dallas once, to visit family and play in a DG tournament for NGBC and XI. shit got cancelled though and I was a bit salty since it was my only time to get out there.
Just the above stuff usually happens every time a new SNK fighter drops, never fucking fails lol. It’s like the Sonic curse but more entertaining and less pathetic.
It was just funny that Kyo was always being changed yet Iori stayed the same; and the only reason Capcom get away with that crap is because they’re well, Capcom, and Capcom fanboys are urgh.
^pretty much that ^^
IMO, DLC is optional: You don’t have to get it if you don’t want it.
I still don’t understand what you meant about Iori having the same movelist over the past years tho ^_^;
Huh? He usually does, I’m alright with his new moves I will just miss short hop pressure into knockdown rekkas, a reliable SRK, and dash back fireballs to gtfo. I meant DLC is mandatory for them to put out, not for us to buy. Just when a game comes out these days I 100% expect some kind of DLC to come along.
@ Aion: True, Kyo did a lot of flip flopping early on, like SNK was confused on what he should be. Even sort of made fun of it in the NEST Saga with the Kyo clone army. I think he was more or less “settled” when 2K2 dropped. He’s usually fun to run, and as their flagship character he should be familiar. Kyo can do some crazy ass shit in XIII though >_>
glad they changed iori he was as stale as fuck, it’s part of the genius of kof, you never know what they’ll do to your character.
I dont see what the big fuss is about, if you play kof you know that no character is safe from the change/overhaul axe
Except when they change the inputs for some of the same moves from one year to the other… I always hated that.
Speaking of inputs, bring back the strange inputs of 95, so bored of the same inputs for everything for everyone, qcf hcb, qcb hcf, whatever happend to hold b down up b+c, haha or b f hcb ub b+c
I hope you’re not suggesting to also bring back the strict input timing as well :S
OG 2K2 had the most effed up inputs for the HSDM’s, yet I played so much I still memorized most of them. :S
No, i dont want another 96, where doing the simplest things is a mission.
I just like it when moves retain there old feel or when there’s alot of variety in different characters inputs, that’s what i loved about 95, granted some characters had the same inputs for supers, moves whatever, and that’s what i disliked about 96 everything or everybody had similer motions for stuff, you could say the same real bout special to real bout 2, where alot of supers became f hcf where as special had some odd and unique motions.
unlike talking about players and so called fans you dont know anything about, why not try discussing the game instead? and at least try not to make a huge rant nobody cares about if yoy decide to do it next time. making a longer rant post doesnt make it seem more imoportant. it only clogs up the thread.
Fuuuuck, why is it so long until october… I want to play this awesomeness online. :o
Any news on EU release? Else I’ll just import US ver like BBCS I guess.
As for DLC characters, yes please. I’d buy it all. Maybe some of the other NESTS-era characters could have a shot at coming back that way. I need dat Vanessa…
And maybe SNK could make some money.
Hey look, the one stereotypical dude who disagrees with opinions and apparently thinks I am not contributing despite multiple posts in the thread beforehand and being here to enjoy SNK games since early '07 (I guess that somehow means I don’t know the “Fans” despite being one and knowing the tropes that go with it.). Also he cannot spell even the most basic of words, even though SRK having a built in spell check. Congratulations on looking classy sir.
No news on an EU release so far Yin, SNK for some reason dislikes that area it seems. I’d just import and enjoy when it drops.
I don’t think anyone was really bitching about Iori, I kind of was but I was just going with the (old) rumors of a throwback Iori included in the game. If I have the option to do so then great, I’d be happy. If not then still great, it’s not important enough to get panties in a wad over. Just stating I preferred old Iori. Just my personal opinion, doesn’t mean I hate “Change” in this Obama era people.
So far team wise I was looking at ?/Raiden/Takuma. My first character I am having trouble with, I usually like to put a good battery/rushdown character in the first slot that can build meter and doesn’t necessarily need it themselves. Anyone have any suggestions? So far the only two I can think of that can fit this role is Iori and possibly Shen.
