Clashing projectiles with Normals, LOL. I forgot about that. I don’t know why they did that but I’ve always thought it was kinda ridiculous. It’s like, “Power Wave? Watch me sweep it!” Imagine if in Street Fighter IV, you can just clash a Hadoken with a Standing Fierce. That’s just crazy. But anyway, I know exactly what you mean. A refined KOF XI system would be great, or just make another game like KOF '98 because I’ve always felt like that one had that strong “staying power” as you call it.
I can sort of see the idea of clashing projectiles, but well, obviously it’s “wut”, and comes across as particularly silly when they put in two button throws. I mean, yay, you have to actually do a move and whiff something if you screw up nullifying projectiles, but…you took that system away from throws and gave them dedicated commands and whiff animations. Hello?
And imagine if in SF3, you could just press forward to destroy a projectile!

anyway to me KOF12 gameplay wise was more than OK (offline), the move list was ok as it was (no big deal with just a few moves each char, i mean i still play KOF94)(new Kyo (95style) is great,new Kensou is great,new Ralf is great,new Clark (94style) is more than enough,new Iori is good,Raiden is massive (i play him in FFS and i m pretty happy SNK put him in kof12),etc),the graphic was excellent (maybe the stages were a bit too big)… if they just make some improvements in some details to me is already a goldmedal.
About new characters: JUBEI,DUCK (ffs style)!!! and some AOF3 characters would be nice too… i don’t really care about Mai and K so… well i have high expectations for KOF13 so SNK make mine!
You can clash projectiles in Art of Fighting? That’s a series I’ve never really played. I know I have the ROMs for it though.
I wish SF had it. Get rid of the SCRUBDOUKEN and TIGER SHOT game. And I remember capcom did do it for SF3. But so many plasma chuckers bitched and complained that they had to give into bullshit so the babies could have their bottle.

KOF was perfectly fine without extra shitty anti-projectile mechanics. SF is better now for ditching shitty anti projectile mechanics. If you hate projectiles so much go play a 3D fighter or something. Or learn how to beat projectiles, since they are perfectly beatable even in zoning-heavy games such as ST.
but firebals are too strong, especially in kof. we cant jump over them or block, shit we cant even roll passed them and combo kill the bastard that dared to shoot one. yeah, they so overpowered, especially in a fast ass game like kof where you can avoid/punish fb’s all day long easily. there is no zangief or honda from ww thats got troubles with slow moving fb’s. if you cant get past fb’s, you sure fg’s for u?

Do you have any idea how tired I am playing against plasma chuckers who can’t vary their game? It gets to a point where I’m playing on rote memorization without any thought in the fight and one can still win.
Can’t use projectile characters? What if I prefer NOT to use them? What if I like grapple characters, mix up characters, goofy characters or charge characters? You’re going to rag on someone because they don’t like the typical projectile based character? What if I find projectile based characters boring as fuck?
KOF became better when it shit on projectiles. Projectiles should be a part of a game and not THE game. 3rd strike handled it best where the projectile game could essentially be cut down drastically in the hands of an experienced player.

Well it’s kinda irritating when people start defending fireball spam and acting like it’s some amazing strategy, when you play SF4 online and see noobs picking Sagat and spamming Tigers the entire fight.
And I agree with Pelvic here, if a game is gonna have projectiles, it shouldn’t be the core of the damn game. Fighting games are meant for actual fighting, if I wanted to play a game where I chuck fireballs and magic spells at people all day, I’d play a damn shooter. That’s why my KC remake game isn’t gonna have any projectiles(save for the boss). Just pure unadulterated hand to hand combat. This is a FIGHTER, not World of Warcraft.
