King of Fighters 13 incoming!

One thing that bothers me is that how the grabs work. They aren’t one frame instant grabs. BUT Goro’s grabs do compensate for it due to being able to absorb a hit or two before being knocked out of it. The one that needs the one frame grabs the most is Clark. Goro compensates for it somewhat. Clark doesnt. Also not being able to combo from a hit to a grab sucks. But for some odd reason hitting twice THEN grabbing DOES combo. It’s weird, but still thankfully does good damage.

I’ve adjusted to the new Goro. He seems quite a bit more mobile then past incarnations.

Though I’m wondering how much work it would take SNK to go back to one frame grabs for Clark and any other grapplers they add again. Also I wouldn’t mind having alternate Goros. One with the one frame grab, and the XII version where he can absorb hits and still grab.

The problem really wasn’t the speed of throws it was the property of all attacks beating throws 100%. My guess is that they didn’t have time to draw frames or code in throw breaks, so they just made throws unbreakable, and then made attacks beat throws to balance it out. That was probably the worst thing about 12 because it killed some of the mixups that have always been a part of kof. It’s a big part of what made offense in 12 really dry.

Wait, are we talking about standard throws or command throws? Because Goro’s throw does go through a hit or two and still ends up grabbing. Clark’s command grab however doesn’t take hits so it is worth a lot less then Goro who can still be used pretty well if you take the time to figure out how to use the new properties of the grabs.

Both normal and command grabs. Are you talking about Daimon’s hcf+P? Because that’s not a grab, you can just block it. It’s an attack with auto guard that has an animation if it hits.

Dark Ash may just be in this game. I think he’ll just get a new move that looks similar to one of Iori’s old moves.
One thing people keep syaing is that Ash will be a boss in the next game. While it is possible, I think those two unnamed creppy teens in the Ikari Team ending will be the next boss.

Was there ever any confirmation on if they were destined for KOF XII at some point? I wonder if they have some ties to the story/will appear in the new game.

As for the throws, I agree they need some serious work. I only really used O Yash and Shermie in terms of ‘Throw characters’ but using Raiden and Clark in XII felt really different even from my short time using them.

The first two look like they’re part of Elizabeth’s group with the motif of European, aristocratic, circus illuminati. The last one looks like a Flying Brigands loli/trap. If they’re able to finish the characters that were meant to be in KOFXII (such as Women Fighters Team, Hwa Jai, Billy, Iori 98, etc.), maybe they could put in the story relevant characters. Yes; priorities, priorities.

I still play KOF XII in vs locally, the engine is solid and i like the new clash and clash with projectiles system.

XIII will definitely be a better (finished) game so I’m looking forward to it.

If Kof 13 really was developed in tandem with 12 than that shit will be bananas. I just hope they improve the netcode and add much more frames of animations to all the characters.

you know that is a pretty good idea and look for her. All i want to know is why did they redraw mature look to have a suit I actually liked her dress. I mean even if she was going to have a suit it should have been a skirt(because in mature profile it says she likes her legs but she ain’t showing known.

snk needs to realize that fighting game fans that dont play the next tekken are miles appart. sf are further than tekkeners, but koffers are even more widespread and distanced. this implies 1 thing, if snkp fucks up xiii and the net code sucks they can die in hell and go bancrupt forever. ive been supporting them since the early neo geo days (i owned an aes, top loader cd and i still own my cdz). ill nevere sell my cdz or the games i got, but we deserve something good after all this time. last great (fuck good or decent) snk games where from 99, thats a long ass time. ive continued to support them, they know how to make tyhe best 2d fighters period (yeah i said it), but aint dont anything worthwhile in such a long ass time, fuck man.

Yeah, I was planning on making KoFXII my gateway to the series but it bombed too hard. Hopefully other people will give this one a chance so I can as well.

I’m not one bit excited for t his. And why should I? I just vested a whole year being excited for 12, and it turned out to be garbage day one. I’m not sure what they’ve done to improve it, but first impressions last…

I know a lot of people are disappointed with KOF XII, but I rather like the game. The tier list isn’t that far apart. I appreciate SNK for trying something new. I love the deadlock/sousai system played right, you can punish your opponent on punches and kicks. I believe it was implemented to keep the fighting going and to give you option for your attacks not just to run away. I am not talking about the Critical Counters, that is another thing. I like the critical counters the way they are, but, if I had to change them, I would do this: Upon getting a CC and activating a Desperation Move it becomes a Super Desperation, the Power Geyser becomes the Triple Geyser. I would include BC combos like in 2002 and a nice damaging move similar to the TOP moves in MOTW. I would also add the supercancel from XI. As far as characters, I would like to see Blue Mary, Vanessa, Heavy D!, Rick Strowd (if Xang Fei made, why can’t he.) Really, Blue Mary and Vanessa.

But, for say something derogative about the game is finding out it was more stuff planned and even a new stage that was shown at gamestop and never even released. That and online play really sucking. But, overall, I do enjoy the game.

I just hope that this game will be a much improved version of 12.

I just thought of something. If Mai is actually in XIII, wouldn’t they have to change her play style completely? A lot of her game consists of air moves like jumping off the wall and such. Problem is the camera is so close, you wouldn’t have enough room to do anything. You would be jumping above the health bar or something. Those Mai fanboys will be complaining all over again when SNK only gives 2 moves to her like Mature.

They could just make her regular jump have short hop height and say the reason she can’t jump higher than that is the weight of her breasts
