King of Fighter 12 is really that good!

While I’m not a fan of Mai (there could be so many better female chars to choose over her) It wouldn’t hurt to add more chars, stages, modes, etc etc. Its nothing that hasn’t been said before , hell ignition made a list too.

I guess they should bring back Mai, it might actually cease some bitching around here (not that I’m one to talk)

What they need to do is stop bullshitting and put in my boy, Rick Strowd. Vanessa and Heavy D are good and all, but I always thought Rick was the better boxer of the three.

Well Rick had his Chance in KOF 99 but the fans voted Xiangfei over him, and then gave some of his moves to Vanessa. You never know nowadays though.

Man i wasnt even complaining u were tryin to discalim the fact that so many reviews rated it low didnt matter, the reason i call u extreme fanboy is because i have never once saw u post anything bad about the game.Instead u defend the game left and right. I enjoy the game, but no where near as much as i would have if they would have added mai like they have always done in the past. They even had her game art in kof12 style on the website which really ahd me hoping for months she would be unlockable but she wasnt, Which was odd because shes the first and only lady in fat fury up until 3 when the added blue mary, but shes been in every kof related title since then execpt mark of wolves so this was just plain fucked up on snk part. (rant ending)

I enjoy the game but the ai is soooo fuckin stupid, you need a friend to play thi sshit with and my friends arent eager to play this game because of it not being so great of a game. So im left feeling like im trying my best to make this game fun, when i shouldnt have to work this hard to make somthing that shoulda already been fun in the first place completely enjoyable. ANd man in this thread there are a few extreme fanboys who bash blazblue, when in honesty blazblue hit gold. So i felt i needed to post the review sites to kinda open up hardcre fanboys a little bit and allow them to see the games for what they are.

this was not in the kof12 review like i said before this is the blazblue review and did hte same guy even review the two games?

goodluck with that there sooo many more forfront characters that i wouldnt hold my breath

I’m still confused as to why this guy has green rep while I have red rep for joking about the 700 MB patch.

Reviewers are all cynical pricks who rate a game on what seems to be nothing but what you can write down on paper.
Reviewers have played so many bad games that barely any of them can find fun in a game anymore.
Not to mention they are under so much pressure to not give a “biased” score that even if a Reviewer didn’t care about lack of features and found the game fun as hell, he still couldn’t give it higher than like, a 7.

Because this is SRK where even the strangest of shit happens here.

Some prem member repped him. Dunno who.

Seems we like going in circles around here don’t we?

Since when does anyone give a cat’s ass in gasoline what ign, gamespot or x-play think about a niche title? Much less a fighting game…

worst place to look for kof reviews ever

edit:

the game feels solid but really lacks on content, I guess you sick hardcore fucks wouldn’t care about this, guess I was wrong. SRK is disappointing me

I just don’t get what the point to the complaints r anymore…it was said once so why continue on with the same theme. Citing personal opinion as fact is abit silly to IMO…and since when did mainstream reporters ever have a good instinct on what validates a good fighter…If I’m not mistaken GT’s gave MKA a fairly decent review and there latest review of MVC2 was a joke. Moral of the story, stop using mainstream revies as a basis of u opinion and stop pretending that ur opinion is “fact”.

Keep in mind that a lot of video game reviews aren’t actually written to reflect the opinions of the dude who played them, but instead an “unbiased industry standard” that doesn’t actually exist. Anyway, I stopped paying attention to game reviews after GodHand got panned even though it was the best beat-em-up I’ve played since the coin-op era.

Now, see, I’m pissed as anybody about the bad netcode, and the arcade mode is too short, but the reason I’m not hurting bad for extra content perse is because I always felt like extra modes and the like only really became a standard because people saw a standalone fighting game as “less game” than your action/RPG/whatever alternatives. But I think that’s bullshit. The roster is the game’s “content” and it never runs out because you are always learning; no two matches are exactly the same.

I’ve probably much more time into SF4 than I have into a lot of “meatier” games like RPGs (which I used to play intensively), and most of my time with singleplayer was spent unlocking shit I didn’t feel like I should’ve needed to unlock anyway. The majority of my time was just spent…playing.

I’m not going to say KoFXII doesn’t have problems–but I think those lay more in a faulty execution of what’s already there, not the absence of what’s not. Fix the online, maybe improve the AI (adding a few extra matches to arcade mode wouldn’t hurt, either). Then you’re fine. But 22 characters is plenty and stages reeaaally don’t matter, not enough to be clamoring for more right out the gate, anyway. As for more modes…sure, they’d be nice, but I don’t feel like their exclusion was an injustice or anything.

Amen.

If there were literally a shit ton of single player modes (survival, story, time attack, arcade, whatever) I would not spend more than 30 minutes doing that shit UNLESS there was some kind of unlockable behind it. And I don’t mean artwork in a gallery. If not, good luck getting me to mess with your ‘all-important omg my game needs to have this’ single player modes.

Blazblue has all that shit, and I’ll admit I spent a good couple of hours playing story mode, 'cuz Litchi is hot. but the rest? Score attack? Arcade? Didn’t bother. Nah dude, I jumped online to play with people, or went to practice mode to learn some combos. That’s all you need. Once (well, hopefully) the netcode gets a fix, this game is 100% complete in my book.

Make more side systems would be nice for KOF XII.

We have the classic arcade 3vs3 system here.

Then you can have:

Groove system.
2 vs 2 tag team system.
Striker system
Combo challenge
Endless team challenge
Replay system.
Ranking system.
DDR system.

Last one is a joke.

LOL. An extreme Mai fanboy insulting someone by calling them an extreme KOF fanboy. Hilarious. It’s also funny how your first argument about the game was that it didn’t have mai in it and from there you just went on and included everyone else’s complaint about the game just to try and make your opinion more valid.

you forgot the Ash dating simulator mode where you take ash on a date, even though I think they did that already.

I have to mostly agree- the extra modes are fluff, and don’t really add to sales.

SNK just needs to add characters, BGMs, and moves, and fix the online and menus. BGMs could be recycled again, SNK themes are great.

The core game is awesome and doesn’t need to be touched.

Yeah, they did the Ash dating, it’s one of those things that gets fapped on by SNK fanboy sites, cause none of those dudes can actually play. It’s why they shit on XII, and SRK respects it at least somewhat.

And everyone else has also forgotten that, outside of a few hotspots and Japan, no one played 3S for the first 3 years that it came out (a lot of players only grudgingly picked it up later because, as pointed out, there wasn’t much else), it took about 5 years for Capcom to make back the money they sunk on the series, and the whole thing was considered such a financial failure that it convinced Capcom to never ever make a fighting game with sprites from scratch again (not counting JoJo which was already in development).

I agree that KoFXII is SNK’s NG. I, however, don’t think that’s a good thing.

KoFXV may indeed be great. Hell, even KoFXIII (which KoFXII is a demo of) should better represent the game SNK wanted to make (i.e. throw in those missing 10 characters). The problem is, will anyone care at that point?

Dude, why do i have to bash the game too when there are like 10 people DEDICATED on the forums to bring it up every chance they get.

One thing that really irks me though is, I don’t know about you, But i’ve known about the lack of modes/chars/stage/etc since MAY(Only thing that couldn’t be foreseen was the online and i half expected that anyway)! Thats over 2 months. Everybody could’ve made up their minds to buy, skip, wait for review/reception etc, and it everybody is surprised when the game actually came out. Sure I have my wishes for extra stuff too but I know realistically speaking the chances of that are minimal. I bought the game full price regardless because I know what I was getting and didn’t mind paying 60 bucks for it in the end.

I do however, understand a lot of the complaints against the game for the aformentioned reasons and do understand where most reviews are coming from, negative, positive, or otherwise. I am however, tired of people totally blown out of their minds out of a product that I saw coming a mile away, along with the fact that thinking that repeating the same arguments is going to make some sort of difference. Maybe at Ignition’s page or forums, but this is supposed to be a Strategy section. Go be angry about the game I have no problem with that. I just have a problem of having to read the same argument for the 100th time when all that time and brainpower can be spent on playing the game or their perfered fighter or something else completely.

end grumpy old man style rant

um with stupid as shit Ai, no reliable online network, and no local firends even the hardcore kof fighting game fansboy will bitch about the lack of evertyhing this game has because there nuthing to do but practice your combos against a non-moving dummy(preferably robert) to in term never be able to effectively put them to use. Also the lack of essential characters such as mai, k yamazaki, makes long time fans feel like they were screwed up the ass when they have to learn other characters they really never wanted to learn like mature(who poorly animated) or elizabeth, whne they could have added THOSE characters later and added more fan favorites and used characters to help people find a way to really enjoy this game despite not really being able to have use outside of practice mode.

um all my baltimore local game friends( i have 3) solely rely on igns.com ratings system that 100% of the people i know that play games so there you, just because u dont give a fuck doesnt mean that others dont.

Um i really really dont give two shits about rep. system thats that petty omg i wanna be cared about shit.

why do u even care i dont, if people rep me they rep me im not a one-sided ill support snk completely and defend the game till i die zombie fan boy like most of you. If there some shit that needs to be said ill say it, reviewers give a pretty good impression on the game and after i played it every review was right on the margin and i have read about 5 saying the game was a disappointment and it was.
