King of Fighter 12 is really that good!

sure thing man

keep on keepin on~

It does!:lovin:

Selective quoting makes awesome points!

i think big pixels look better than sprites that are so hi res that you cant see the pixels ie blazblue or vector stuff because im a fucking weirdo

IMO in the next game, SNK should change it so that the camera never zooms in as far as it does right now. The sprites look incredible most of the time but as soon as you get really close and land a CC things start to look a little too SNES for me

Having an SDTV at home and an Arcade that set up KoFXII on an SD cabinet isn’t such a bad thing after all.

You’re not weird, it genuinely looks good. We appreciate sprites, I’m with you.

I stopped reading after the part he said “Ignition worked their asses off for 4 years.”

If you really want to gain exposure to boost sales, which I assume is the point of this thread, your fanboy rant would be better appreciated here:

go give it a 10.0 and a hyped up biased review if you haven’t already, because the game desperately needs it.

Yo, Project, honestly, I think you should re-read your posts and notice how you come off in each and everyone of them. You’re totally doing some blind-ass fanboy shit. This game has gigantic oversights for a fighting game that should NOT be the case for the next-gen 2009 fighting game.

The system is good, but you’re not going to draw anyone in with “Well, at least the fighting is alright.” What’s to bring in new people in the KOF12 package? Nothing. No solid online. No bosses. No unlockables. No survival mode. Absolutely nothing. Doujin games have more content than this and it’s unacceptable.

If this was PS2 and 2005, KOF12 would be the greatest thing to happen.

No Im not, I already posted in another thread the problems with this game. I never said the game was perfect. However, this thread is about the good this game has to offer. Is it that difficult for some of you to understand this?

Even with the glaring problems KOF12 has, people are still enjoying this game. This thread is about that.

I enjoy this game when I have someone to play with. But I can relate to people who don’t feel that it is stellar due to the crap netcode thus far.

It’s really hard for me to find time to travel and play local when I work 50-80 hrs a week and have to study for my charter (2 hrs a day + 6 hrs on weekends for 6 months). Only a few of my friends play SF4 (went to a few local gatherings with local SoCal players) and none play KOF.

I think a few prominent players like The Answer play every Friday at PCLan, but a majority of those will be reserved for my very understanding girlfriend (since I barely have any time for her).

As of now, I’ve done training mode, picked up the very exceptional game guide, but I don’t really know how to play the game due to lack of player interaction. I can’t play online because it is like the characters are swimming so it’s hard for me to enjoy and learn.

Luckily I’m one to see potential and when I popped this game in the fighting engine felt amazing, I saw the potential and I really want to learn this game.

In the end though, how can me personally have high regards for this game when I cannot experience it to its fullest. I can see how many would, but at this moment I can’t see it myself.

lol what was the last fighting game to NOT have a final boss, anyone remember?

Do you think the ps2 could handle something like that? Seeing games like GOWII in 480p, definitely seems possible even if it were slightly stripped down. I mean, KOF XI didn’t push any limits.

I’d say even if this game came out in the ps3 as a launch title or even sometime in 2007, it would be a hit. The arrival of BB only a month back killed any shot KOF XII had.

Like I said in my thread, this game is definitely worth beasting over for any SNK/collector/fighting game fan since it’s good quality fan service and there are so few fighting games released in general but no point being the first to buy it. It will be less than $20 in no time, then I can justify the purchase. It’s not like there isn’t anything else to play in the mean time.

How are they going to go about releasing a XIII? DLC/expansion pack? Full priced release? Next year? 3 years away?

sengoku basara x :stuck_out_tongue: (technically)

I can’t blame people for not wanting to jump on the KOFXII bandwagon for 60 bucks.

However, we can’t have our cake and eat it, too.

The reason the game is barebones is because of the visual overhaul.

If you want a game with the incredibly impressive shading and animation that KOFXII has (and judging by threads here over the past year, it’s clear that people DO), then be prepared to support a first release that isn’t going to be packed with extras.

This isn’t Capcom or Namco. SNK is a smaller company with limited resources. They can’t create all these beautifully rendered sprites AND add Tekken force mode + story mode + full anime cut scenes + uber-netcode + challenge mode + all the bells and whistles people demand in the first release. They also can’t sit on a game for 4+ years without releasing SOMETHING to try an get some income.

Now, some of you might say: “Not my problem SNK is a small company. If the game is barebones, I still ain’t paying 60 bucks for it.”

That’s fine.

But, then in the future, stop asking for brand new 2D fighting games with awesome next gen graphics and 3S level animation and stuff. Because, most people here don’t seem willing to support the process of getting there.

History is clearly repeating itself:
SF3:NG (barebones) > SF3:SI (better) > Third Strike (10+ years of lasting power)

The parallels are pretty obvious to me…

wow, way to make excuse their bud, you their attorney or something lol

you CAN have your cake and eat it too, what a stupid phrase, I see what dude was talking about right here http://forums.shoryuken.com/showpost.php?p=7232742&postcount=322

This is exactly why I bought the game (that and the gameplay being good so far). This is the most crucial time for the KOF series, and I really don’t want 98 and 2k2 to be the only KOF games that people play for the next 100 years.

Even with that said, I’m kinda angry at SNK for not putting some important stuff they could have put w/o much effort and budget (Not talking about modes or characters, but stuff like a recording function in training mode. The game can save inputs of a whole match in replays but it can’t save a tiny bit of them for training purposes? This is BS)

Good post.

History is clearly repeating itself:
SF3:NG (barebones) > SF3:SI (better) > Third Strike (10+ years of lasting power)

there is no question that by KOF XV won’t be at the top of it’s game and every subsequent release will cost less and be deeper the problem is will KOF fans hold out, by the time they make a KOF XV (in 10 years) they’ll be far behind the curve… again.

Amen.

Have throws been nerfed in KOF XII?

I don’t know about you guys but I find throws next to impossible to land successfully. I’m not even sure why. What has changed in this game compared to others?
