Of course not. You ever seen Justin shirtless? He has no belly button because he was created in a lab, deep under Triforce’s game store.
THis looks like a Low quality version of I got next still looks sick but we already got are Street fighter movie. I guess its a biography about all fighting games but it looks exactly like I got next.
I got NExt and King of CTF take two different approaches to the fighting game scene. King of CTF concentrates on a specific individual while I got Next encompasses the entire community. I think they complement each other very well.
Your site looks awful, as does the drawing of Justin, although the trailer shows promise. Good luck
By the look of the trailer looks very similiar to I got next. I see more interviews with gootecks and seth then justin and if it’s about justin shouldn’t they be more focused on him.
I guess they showed empire acrcade but really it looks exactly like I got next.
Why shouldn’t it be focused on him…it’s a documentary about him.
What part of my previous post didn’t you understand? It looks nothing like I Got Next. Though if your main aspect of comparison is interviews then all documentaries look alike. Yes there was an interview with Gootecks but it wasn’t centered on him, Gootecks was in the background not even talking.
You are a funny dude
Its not low quality. I have spent almost a year working on this, following justin and triforce. Technically it’s before I got next. I actually still don’t want to be done. There is so much story to be told here. It is character driven unlike most documentaries, and there will be drama and events not just interviews about street fighter. This documentary is more like a king of kong than an i got next.
As for I got next. Ian is an awesome graphics designer and if i could have him working on my film for that then i would in my mind have myself a million dollar picture with the footage i have, which most people don’t know about but criticize, (understandably). Since Ian is busy working on his film I doubt this could happen so I will get someone else.
My picture is meant to be viewed by people that know nothing about street fighter & also service the community by presenting what happened in a correct way. It is NOT a Justin Wong commercial. It is the truth of the events that transpired. We are screening cuts to people that know nothing about street fighter and they find it interesting. I promise you it will not dumb down the events in anyway, it will only make this known to a larger audience much like king of kong did to the kong playing community.
disable comments if this goes on youtube for the love of God
half the stuff these ppl on youtube are saying is retarted dumb (not even dumb retarted)
This film doesn’t seem anything like I Got Next:
I Got Next seemed more like a fighting game documentary made for fighting gamers. It’s scope was such that you had to be part of the community to really appreciate it. This film seems more “character oriented”; by focusing on Justin and his relationships/encounters with other players it’ll be more accessible to people outside of the fighting game community.
In short, I Got Next is the film I’d watch with my fighting game friends, but King of Chinatown seems to be the documentary I could recommend to anyone.
hahah thanks i guess… We will be fixing the site up more and more. We are trying to do this independently and do not have the amount of people working on this that we should. Getting the movie finished is more important at the moment
In the meantime I was just impressed with what 1 man did with 1 camera at EVO

So will this make SF tourney geeks, look as pathetic as those guys from King of Kong, because yeah eheh
No, the film promotes pro gaming. People will be portrayed as they are in life and I don’t find the top players I’ve met geeky
you guys come in packs?
anyways, documentary looks very good, anything that promotes the scene in a positive way is good
The toronto international film festival is in september (10-19). Link–> http://www.tiff.net/default.aspx
best line of the trailer: “wow, are you serious” [it’s all in the delivery]
some people are calling that fake because you can hear the opening music but there are like 3 or 4 tvs playing games at the arc at any given time. it really is a training place for serious gamers
it was sweet being interviewed for this… i hope i get some air time… now that i think back i probably shoulda said some more interesting stuff… still was kool tho, if you can get a theater to play it in the Indianapolis area i’ll get a troupe together and go see it… and your psycho crusher bizniz cards are super tight…
Nice! Any chance of getting it shown at the Magic Johnson Theater in LA by the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza? Im just a stone’s throw away from there.
just saying that i just saw the trailer and it looks off the hook. im starting the scene here in oregon and if the movie opens here you’ve got at least 10 guys and all our girls willing to support.
oregon love.
can’t wait for it.
As if that kid needs anything else to feed his ego. I don’t know him, and really don’t care to, but from all the footage I have seen from him, he looks like one hell of a cocky kid. Hell, that’s probably the last person I would want to “represent” the fighting game community to the masses that don’t play them.
You make a promise that this is not going to be a Justin Wong promo, but from you’re trailer, I see nothing more than that. Let’s see, drawing of him for the site, every other cut was to him, and kids screaming his name like he is something important at the end. I’d love to see how this documentary on Justin Wong does not turn into a promotion for him.
And before anyone brushes this post off as me being a hater, it’s not my sole intention. Do I like him based on what I have seen? No. Will I go out of my way to see this movie? Most likely not, especially considering in south florida there are very few indie theaters worth driving to.
He is a kid who is good at video games, hardly deserving of a documentary that is just going to cause more hype about him. I know you worked hard on this film and I just wish you picked someone with class as your subject.
I also saw you made a mention to king of kong and how it brought that section of gamers into the mainstream, which it did. However, the point of that movie was more the “battle” between the “good guy” who just kept trying to prove he could do what his video showed and the “bad guy” who was just a cocky asshole who thought he was king of the world because he was good at old video games.
So in your film, where’s the “good guy”?
ask twin galaxies, king of kong is about competitive gaming, yes, but i think they feel it is more about the film makers making regular joes into dweebs and sensationalizing stuff.
unfortunately because of that, i don’t think it will get king of kong hype. not that it’s a bad thing, i’d rather see REAL people in a documentary rather than fancy editing that distorts everything.
can’t wait to see this film.
