Ultra Edition for me (^▽^)
If Ultra edition is the season pass that gives you all of the future DLC characters for free, I’m down. Keeping it that price would make it easy for people who arent hardcore fighting gamers yet to get into it without paying retail disc price. 5 bucks per character will add up pretty quick, so just buying this ultra edition if it covers you sounds ideal.

I don’t know, I’m torn between Combo Edition and Ultra Edition. I don’t care for the old KI being included. I do want the costumes (that haven’t even been shown yet)…6 is lower than I thought for launch, I would gonna hope for 10 for at least the original cast but it’s already confirmed that they’ll be adding characters after the first 8. No matter, I NEED GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE MAN!
Yeah I’ll be getting the Ultra Addition, hopefully they’ll add more then just 2 more dlc characters in it though, should have everyone else

Cinder…balanced type fan favorite…but not necessary for a launch…I’d pencil in as Wave 2…
Fulgore…same as Cinder, but sort of the Sagat to Jago as Ryu…very probable launch character…
$40 for the full thing is kind of cheap though for a full release. Any details floating around about the MadCatz stick besdies what wqas shown at E3?

What the hell Spinal is not a niche character! Spinal and Fulgore were the faces of KI back in the day! Spinal was on the side of the damn arcade machine and on the cover of Killer Cuts!
So the good news is KI is $20 (or free with gold).
Bad news, game isn’t finished at launch, and there’s a good chance interest won’t hold out until the 2nd season.

I mean…who the hell gets snubbed for the launch date? Orchid/Cinder/Fulgore are pretty much top 3 of who’s left of fan favorites and one of them is going to get left behind (at least early). I mean…I guess the last two are Orchid/Cinder for Story purposes.
damn, 6 is a little low. i knew they werent gonna be fully stacked by launch, but 6. so far you have jago, glacius, sabrewolf, and chief thunder, and i assume orchid and then tj combo, although we did see the cinder spoiler already on that dudes vine. i would go cinder over tj combo if i were to objectively make a decision based on popularity, although tj combo was really popular.
so we have neutral, rushdown, grappler, zoner, and i bet the last two will be a neutral and a rushdown. so orchid, combo, cinder, or spinal. two of those 4 fo sho.
i hope they push for at least 8 on launch. i really dont mind a smaller roster to start off for a while for once. gives everyone some time to just master some characters, really push the envelope of the system and cast, and easier for those intimidated by huge rosters to get in and really learn matchups and what not.
whenever i get an xbox1 this year, ultra edition for me too. be nice to finally have an hd killer instinct 1. no roms and shit. im pretty psyched about the cast so far, so only 6 at launch wont make me upset, but i would prefer 8. i could hold out on 8 for a solid 6-8 months with no updates other then game breaking stuff, and not be upset at all. but if they do 6 then a month later the other 2 come, thats cool.
Wait, so let me get this straight. So if we get the Ultra edition, we will only be getting 8 characters total at launch? That is absolutely horrible. I’m sorry, but even for a game like KI that only has 2 games in the franchise and 13 playable characters total between those two games, that is just pitiful. How exactly will the pricing work after the game has been released? How much will it cost for us to add the new characters after the Day One launch?
I already said the game would only have 6 to 8 characters at launch so looks like my prediction was correct. The game has only been in development for 10 months and is a digital download title so they’re just going to take the risk and hope people buy in for the longhaul. Which shouldn’t be too bad since the gameplay is very unique and streams should help give it the highlighting it needs to get more people purchasing it.
I’m assuming the Ultra Edition is the version that gives you all future character content free of additional charge.
