yeah the game doesn’t see like its going to need a lot def option since all the options are pretty good. the only thing i personally would enjoy is that combo breakers can allow juggle potential at the expense of shadow move or instinct mode.
Liked the interview. Seems like it was a happy accident that the dynamic music works the way it does. The devs said they wanted the combos to be like playing an instrument, and Mick just took that to the next level basically. The girl doing the vocals in Jago’s song is apparently a well known singer also. It’s also rather interesting to hear that even the KI theme song went through a bunch of changes. Which makes sense since the E3 version of the song sounds different from the Evo version.
Says you’ll most likely be able to choose from different types of announcers also. I really hope they continue this character/stage/music creation thing for all of the characters. It will be quite exciting to watch Mick’s talent as months turn into years with each character getting their own theme that he will tailor to their story and identity. Can’t wait to hear Glacius’ and Sabrewulf’s stuff in clarity.
First off DAMN that game Weapon Lords looks awesome, bitch kept slashin the skull tillthe brain popped out!
Secondary, despite the efforts going into this game I dont hold much hope for it. Back in the day these machines (KI2) went silent as everybody was still nuts over MK and SF. What will it show off to lure away players from the current stable lineup of FG? Combos and breakers were sweet but felt very gimicky. I dont know enough about new development because frankly the series so far has been very meh.
KI will never be more than Orchid TnA. I mean you saw the angle they went for then along came dead or alive and boom.
Injustice is coming to the end with its DLC (unless Boon pushes out another pack), USF4 won’t be out until next year (and it’s still just an update), MK is 2 years off at least, Tekken’s winding down, Mahvel 3’s winding down and Skullgirls still is trying to find its niche.
Coming out with a great game that has epic music, an easy-to-learn hard-to-master fighting system, stand-out characters and the Iconic Ultra Combo will always be welcomed. As much as people deny it, Killer Instinct made an impact. If not, where did MK get the inspiration for Brutalities?
As for KI never being more than Orchid TnA…there have been only four characters confirmed for this game, three actually shown, and the hype for it damn close to maximum capacity. And they haven’t even shown her yet.
Plus this title will make Xbox One the fiirst and only next gen system to have a fighting game for a while.
I understand the concern, but if there’s any time for any IP to ressurect itself, its pretty much this holiday season which will otherwise be dead slow for new fighters on a console.
Not want to be the asshole that nit picks but your answer is vague, I don’t remember KI having awe inspiring music. It certainly does raise any tekken2 anna stage nostalgia that still haunts me, or guilt gear having a OST so outrageously awesome that daisuke or whatever his name woulda have best served mankind managing a rock band.
easy to learn hard to master fighting system. Not gonna lie this sums up every god damn fighting game in existence for me lol, I had a hard time learning bioforge fighting system but I doubt that even counts.
Stand out characters hummm, what kinda of new character will surprise you these days? Namco/Capcom/[insert fg dev here] has so many outlandish characters come out that its near nigh impossible to pick out your most stand out favourite. KI had a black chick ripped off from DC fandom, I certainly remember that shit and I doubt theyre gonna need to try hard to bring in previous fans to pick it back up but…
Fighting games are now seen as more hardcore than the mid 90s, I mean I hope the best for the title, but unless your buying the console its been relegated too your not gonna go out of your way to get one to play it, or even miss it at this stage from what I can tell.
Colour me unimpressed at this stage, I can safely say excluding the talent behind working on this title there is nothing atm that makes it seem like it will even sell. I look forward to being proved wrong and hopefully can see a stack of videos soon.
@crucades, all answers come with time. It really is filling in a lot of missing holes in fighting games that only indie games like Skullgirls have really put together. Plus the game is dirt cheap and gives you a ton of ways to play it so the commitment is much less than a typical 60 dollar game. Once you have an Xbox One and a stick the first round of the game will cost 0 to probably 15 dollars at most depending on what you want.
