The right one is indeed your multiplayer rank level, the left is simply the same but for your single player rank (fight titles etc.)
Oh I got it working now…for some reason it didn’t upload instantly when I downloaded the ultra edition so I had to restart the console before it showed.
Anyways I just finished my"day 1"experience with this game so I figure I’d give my impressions and review. First off I gotta say…I haven’t had this much fun with a fighting game in years. The last time I legitimately enjoyed myself was with KOF13 before my soul got crushed thanks to the online mode. In grinding my online rank in this game the time literally flew by which is in contrast to my experiences in SF4 and SFXT which felt like grinding. Everything feels great for the most part and it feels like a very solid and refined fighter. It would be easy for me to say its 1 of the best fighting games I’ve personally experienced in recent years but there are a few issues that hold it back…this is all just my opinion of course but let me know what you guys think.
Issue #1-Incomplete: I wish the game had a full roster and story mode…not a fan of the P2P format. The game doesn’t feel beta or anything but it certainly does feel like a demo…a mighty great demo but still a demo regardless.
Issue #2-Damage: A lot of modern fighters seem to be focusing a lot more on big combos which isn’t really a big deal but I hate how combos are becoming the only real way to inflict damage anymore. I wish you could inflict big damage off the neutral game as well with footsies and zoning…classic KI had big damage all around with combos being the most viable form of damage output which is the route I wish this game took. If a patch does come around I hope they really up the damage output and make pokes,specials and normals hurt along with combos.
Issue #3-Shadow Moves: I feel shadow moves are a bit too good…they basically make applying pressure useless and with shadow counters it feels like blockstrings aren’t worth the trouble anymore. I think a way to resolve this is just to make shadow moves like EX moves with no "super freeze"and to make shadow counters cost a full 2 bars.
These are the only issues I have with the game and if they were to get resolved I have no problem declaring this game 1 of my top 5 fighters of all time.
I agree on this. I’ve seen/played all the 30 some matchups this game has to offer. cant wait for Spinal/Fulgore to drop
I think the biggest thing beyond combos in this game is the breakers/counter-breakers. I havent actually paid attention to notice if preforming one actually adds or modifies damage in any way, but I know in the original, they used to take off a fair chuck of your bar if executed. that and CB’s increased your damage iirc as well!
the camera pan when you start one is a dead giveaway, but I dont think they are “broken” per se. watching AcidGlow’s vids on the damage comparisons looks like they just add numbers to your combo is all. from what I’ve seen the pros do, they seem more of a wakeup option more-so than a pressure option. unless I am misunderstanding what you are saying (it’s highly possible, as I am green in the FGC)
I had a couple good,sets today with Rico Suave and Draman Kuritani. Playing both these players in a row was a very humbling experience. The difference between people that are really good and God like with a character is a huge rift. At high level i know Sadira has an advantage on Glacius and so does Thunder (slightly) but the beating i took from these dudes today was no excuse for tiers, i was simply out played lol.
I started wondering what players are the best with their characters, and maybe this isn’t the place but a list of the top 5 or at least the top 3 players per character would be nice for us to have so we can play sets these guys online and get some top tier matchup knowledge. So far i can only say who i think the best are for Thunder and Sadira because ive played them for Glacius im putting Filthy Rich just from what i saw on the last Microsoft stream a couple weeks ago. I haven’t run into any other Glacius online that i cant hang with in a set and Ive played the high ranked ones except for Max and Filthy…

I still have a tough time getting against your Glacius but I felt I did a better job overall than last time, that jumping HK is my bane
You really forced my to switch up my auto doubles and use counter breaker here and there.
Anyway this is some good practice for me because 90% of the characters I run into with ranked are Jago.
Yeah you have to find people to put on your friends list if you don’t wanna go through the Freego army all day. In a couple months it will probably be the Sabrewulf army when they switch up the free character.
Yeah I noticed you were a bit timid with the counter breakers at first, but started to bust them out later on in the set. I’ll have to start learning manuals pretty soon as Glacius doesn’t really have a great auto double mix up. Long ranged auto doubles are strong cuz you get free counter breakers, but at close range he isn’t too difficult to figure out after fighting him enough.
That is pretty badass if that is supposed to be remnant of people rowing a boat and chanting for Spinal’s stage.
Hopefully we’ll see something more of Spinal soon… is there a stream scheduled this thursday? Maybe as a new years treat

Max prolly has the best Jago…him or AcidGlow. I have yet to face either though so I can’t judge that. I have played Rico a bunch of times.
I need to play more…

Holy crap I never realized how bad Instinct Sabrewulf rapes Glacius until I played a long set with a good Sabrewulf last night!
I want a Wii U just to play that game. It looks freaking godlike
