Now if they announce a port of KI 1 & 2 with the new KI , I may have to get XB1 at launch. That should be highly unlikely due the fact that Nintendo would have to release the rights correct? Man I love playing KI on the SNES with X-band online play. That was only 14K pretty much lag free for all my matches. I lag more on games today than I lag on X-band LOL. Talk about good net code.
The whole “you are spending this much for one game” is so stupid. There’s a nice amount of launch titles for everyone. And like any system, more will rain down from the heavens.
And even if it was one game (for now) that’s perfectly fine. No one buying a new game system at launch nowadays is exactly broke.
Yeah I dunno why this is still being talked about tbh. People have their own reasons for choosing whatever system they want. Even if they buy it only for KI, most games are multiplat anyway so they’re still gonna get to play other good titles if they want to.

There’s too many childish talks about price, privacy, and blatant fanboyism (even in the FGC…) that is literally disruptive to what people care about, which are the games. It’s very tiring especially when misinformation is passed around. I’m not specifically calling anyone out, I’m generally speaking about what I see. Right now, Xbox is the target. No matter how good the Xbox One’s games are, people are still bashing it (I.E. Evo, granted that was directly to MS). If one doesn’t like a game, don’t buy it, don’t talk about it.
I do understand one not being able go get KI because they can’t afford an xbox one, that is totally a valid reason, but putting down a game because it’s not on your system of choice is childish and doesn’t deserve to be put anywhere. I feel sorry for those who can’t afford an Xbox One and won’t be able to play KI as much as they would like to, but we’ve all been in that position (well, most) when growing up. People need to stop acting like kids. If you have interest in the game, cool, I welcome it, we can discuss gameplay mechanics and such, but I don’t like blatant lies of fanboyism.

UPDATE: Now to KI talk. Assuming Chief Thunder will be their “grappler” archetype, would it seem that he would have moves that kind of remind you of King from Tekken? His way “in” would be his tomahawks and then he would grab you for these “King” type of wrestling moves/combos. Just a thought.

Oh and it looks like I might have to finally get a stick. The with all of these systems being two button presses, doing them on a Xbox 1 controller might be a bit awkward for me.

I hope Chief Thunder’s stage is the bridge with the indian type of music. I loved that stage and how it scaled. Maybe it will be the first scalable level that they show off.
I also hope that he has his fire phoenix projectile that can go up and down. I really wish Saberwulf had his flying bats too :(.

However, when you have a cultural roster of characters you want a visual & audio cue that makes its obvious what their background is otherwise you end up with something more realistic witch is just a bunch of average looking people. I figured he was just joking, but whatever. There’s been a huge debate over whether the Washington Redskins should change their name, but of course that’s never going to happen.
I doubt Chief is getting his old stage or music. The game is getting an overhaul design wise and you can already tell with how Jago and Glacius are very changed from their old look. Glacius is more like a really tall Mewtwo and comes off as like a highly intelligent space being. As opposed to the old Glacius who was more like a hulking ice beast that flexed his muscles and just cared about being a beast. I like it though because he looks more like what a complex space being from an ice planet should. The armor concept is awesome both visually and gameplay wise.
Whatever you’re thinking Chief is going to be like, expect it to be different or generally modernized.
Im with you man. From the looks of the 3 confirmed, any other old character will have a total makeover. Not so much a bad thing considering the last time we saw the game was 12yrs ago. The only old character I cant see being change very much would be Spinal. Hell how much change can you do to a skeleton LOL. The good thing is the game is coming along well and all the doubts most people had are gone out the window. With all the features XB1 are putting in this game, it may just set the new standard for tourny play. The more I hear, the more Im impress with both XB1 and KI.
I have a much harder time envisioning what a Riptor and Cinder redesign could look like since their originals were so 1 dimensional and solid -Dinosaur - Human torch. Spinal was just a skeleton but you could just give him more armor than he had in KI2,a nd a little meat on his bones so he looks more undead zombie ish… He could turn out pretty cool, they have a lot of leeway with him i think.
I hope we see some kind of spirit attacks from Thunder.
I think thunder will be their vortex character. Could have lots of ambiguous stuff and crossups off his aerial moves.
Spinal could have a Pirates of the Caribbean type of look.
Spinal would fit the “vortex”/mixup character slot i think. Thunder i feel will be a cancel type. He’ll be able to cancel a lot of his moves into others i think. Just speculation of course
I am just joking, I took Native American Studies in school this year and they pointed out all the racism that people seem to ignore towards Native Americans.
I think Thunder will either be a Cody frametrap like character, like a big and slow guy who gets 30% damage combos in like 1/2 as many hits in the rest of the cast or a grappler. He probably will lose his projectile.
There were so many combo breakers in the EVO game footage, it makes mounting an offense look very difficult.
Im with you Mayonaka, Spinal would fit the vortex type more and to Zedox that PotC look would be cool. One thing for sure is if DH plans on giving us a preview of all the characters before launch they need to speed this thing up ha ha ha.
Honestly, I think a part of his stage was already shown in the Teaser. The old tree and the rock looks like it could be part of a desert, and you can easily attach the bridge to it.
