Killer Instinct (2013)

The important thing about Cinder is to keep the fire powers. He doesn’t need to be engulf in flame to accomplish this. They could easily go with a design similar to the new main character of InFamous for him.

Most of my favorite games are

No its not. Its a demo that can be expanded. F2P was a journalist error, devs confirmed this game is not F2P.

This is true, but i feel tat he might need to still be on fire/ engulfed in them still. This is mainly due to the actual story and how it describes CInder and what happened to him. There’s still room for interpretation and revamping slightly though

So here are my thoughts on Shadow Breakers. Do you guys think they should be adjusted a bit or no?

I come from playing Marvel 3 and Skullgirls so it has to be really cheap before I consider it overpowered/broken. I like those games because they show that you can have powerful stuff and yet still have ways to fight them and stop them before they start. Everything that’s good gets beat despite what should/shouldn’t be in.

Shadow counters…I dunno. I honestly don’t understand enough about the KI engine to make a real judgement in it. Nor do we know exactly how it will work out at high level play. A lot of things that seem overly powerful, become not as much so as people figure out tactics to work against what is initially perceived as too powerful.

Even with all of the combo breaker stuff that’s in the game, it seems like people can just stop their combos and go for frame traps to bait breaks also. I feel as that becomes more of a part of the engine and a slight adjustment if needed if the shadow breakers get out of hand, and it should be fine. I think we’re better off seeing how it works over a longer period of time in tournaments first.

Shadow Breakers are just really an easier combo breaker. I believe theyre fine the way they are though. Reasons:

  1. Shadow linkers arent exactly necessary in your combos. There are plenty of ways to accumulate decent damage without them. Not using leaves them no opportunity to break them. If people want to abuse the easier breaker, just do combos that dont require it, and theyll eat the damage thinking youll do the linker at some point.

  2. Once they realize youre not doing shadow links, theyll panic and try to break your manuals or autos, once they miss and get locked out, feel free to use up your linker to accumulate that damage.

  3. Not all shadow links are easy to time those five hits. Others are very simple link glacius’ uppercut, while his cold shoulder is slightly harder. Still very easy to miss time unless you sit and learn the timing to every character’s shadow linker, which is too much for people not trying to play competitively which lets it not be abused as much.

Competitively, shadow breaks become mindgames and turns into reason 1 and 2

Ken Lobb and James Goddard in the HIZZZ- OUSE!!!

I also hope Thunder will be the grappler type, it makes sense considering the pattern so far and would be really cool to see them try out more archetypes.

I feel like they could do his grapples with his auto-doubles as every character has some sort of unique feature to there chain combos like long range for Glacius so they could have throw combos. I’m really excited to see what they do next to be honest.

I just want thunder to say OOOWEEE and PHOENIX… I’ma be kinda upset if they take that out.

I also needs the characters to yell when they get hit again. Orchid ugk ugk and saberwulf yelp… cinder hollering “good one” was a big part of the charm of game to me.

Grappler with a slow moving fireball and a DP? That could be pretty insane.

I haven’t been keeping up with the news, have they said anything about the possibility of doing a pc port? Because as much as I love KI I won’t touch the game if it means I have to buy the xbox.

nothing yet

One game will not sell an otherwise shitty console better. They’ll either release it on other platforms as well, or flop.

Why are we still talking about sales and the Xbox One? That shit is irrelevant. KI is the topic, stick to it.

They had an EVO Panel for Killer instinct. It was 1.5 hours long so I managed to get alot of info into a shorter video.

You’re messin up Acid. I already sat there and watched the whole thing xD oh well it was fun to watch for an hour and a half lol

I believe it will stay an Xbox One exclusive…everyone keeps asking if there’s gonna be a port or it should go to another system shows that there’s major interest in the game. After people stop caring about their hate on something that isn’t even released dies down and people start buying Xbox One’s (even more than they are), the game will sell even more over time and that’s a win for Microsoft.

Anyways, I can’t wait to see Thunder’s design and how they are going to implement a grappler in the KI system.

I wonder if theyll give Spinal his teleports and his character changes back xD

Neither system has any exclusives strong enough to sell the system on its own. That’s a fact. Microsoft dropped the ball with a digital download service that’s too restrictive, which gives PS4 the edge, sure. Either way doesn’t mean Xbox doesn’t have time to restructure just like Sony had to during the PS3. Its just history repeating itself on a worse, but far from insurmountable scale.

Yet like said above, the people who are coming in here are already showing that this is the number one launch game on either system.

In any event, the people here that want to talk about Killer Instinct are dead tired of this system war crap. That’s not what this thread should be about and if I have to PM mods to get you guys to keep talking about Killer Instinct, I will go ahead and do so.
