OMG the official Killer Instinct forums is full of complete morons… All they do is complain that the game is not exactly the same as the originals, its too much like SF4, the character designs suck, the fonts suck, the announcer sucks, make it more grimdark, UGH! Its like SRK on crack!
I hope to God that Double Helix doesn’t take these idiots too seriously…

Their being more SFs as to why they are better is arguable. I can look at SF2s designs and still like them, which I don’t feel the same about the original KI designs. You mentioned the camo pants, which is KI2, which are admittedly a little better in the design department. I’m strictly speaking on the first game, however.

Agreed. To me the Street Fighter cast and their attire look great is because they don’t look “retro” nor are they trying to fit with the times. In some characters they may look bland, but yet unique and distinctive which is why they can stand the test of time regardless of having the same attire from the 90’s. I love Jago but even I would say that his half top shirt revealing his abs would look kinda weird today. I still believe Orchids attire from KI1 or KI2 would look great if it was revamped to the graphics quality of today as well as many others (Tusk, Kim Wu etc, etc).

The only gripe that I would have would be if they modified them so much from their original counterparts that you wouldn’t be able to make a comparison to their original counterparts.

But yea, Jago’s new design is awesome. I knew instantly whom he was. Mask, sword, hair. It was all still there. And I like Glacious’ look, too. He looks like nothing much has changed. Just brought up to speed and current like he should be. Sabrewful does look a bit rat like, but still better than his Clip Art generic wolf with tshirt ala KI 1.

Glacius looks the best because he didn’t seem to change much from his original, just simply revamped graphics thrown on and he’s fine. Jago looks great to me in all parts besides two things for me…#1 I would’ve liked it that he kept his Katana instead of the Arabian sword look. 2nd would be his hairstyle, yes, I might be nitpicky, but I liked his OG hairstyle WAY more then his new hair look. Jago being completely shaved on his head besides the top-half isn’t as appealing to me. His KI1 & KI2 hairstyle of having full on hair with his bangs hanging out to wide side of his eye was much cooler looking.

Lastly is the tattoo, I mean Jago is supposed to be a Monk so I would’ve preferred him to have a clean look without extravagant tattoos on his upper left chest torso, to me that simply doesn’t fit his character all to well in contrast to what he’s supposed to be storyline wise. Sabrewulf needs to look more like a wolf instead of a rodent and I’ll be fine with him, I think overall he looks good, maybe make him a bit more beefier too wouldn’t be to bad either.

Overall I don’t have a beef with the game, watching Justin and Alex playing the game and hearing their statements has given me a more positive outlook of KI3.

I actally like the updated designs so far. I’m still waiting to see Orchid, Combo and Cinder. Jago’s makes more sense. I’m glad they ditched the ninja look and Saberwulf looks more lean and feral.

From everything I’ve learned and seen since the announcement, I am very pleased. It looks fantastic, early gameplay tests by respected members of this community have been very positive, and the characters look awesome.

They should drop more info prior to Evo, and don’t leave us all in the dark up until that point. Like how Sakurai does his Smash updates. Even if we just get images here and there, I’m down for it.

You shouldn’t use the word F***y, it’s a mean and hateful word towards gay people. Plus his hair style wasn’t emo it was a cool normal hairstyle unlike the stupid new one he has nos.

Anyway what I wanted to say was I’m not a fan of the new looks.

I thought Jago’s old look was better, his new appearance isn’t even what we know him as. His hair looks a mess and he is all of a sudden big and buff, it’s really weird

Also not a fan of Saberwulf’s new look. He doesn’t even look like a werewolf anymore, now he looks like a weird beast.

I thought Glacius new look is bad ass though. Really cool
