But you see then I feel like I have to compromise my happiness just for the sake of principle. Besides don’t pretend you wouldn’t buy the xbone if it had a game you REALLY wanted to play.
Unless the X-Cocks takes away all these BS “features” alot of people arent gonna buy one. I don’t know anybody who is normal who would buy a system to play ONE game. Unless you’re rich or just have lots of disposable income your average joe/family isn’t gonna buy it if the choice is between that ant the superior PS4.
lets not forget that it was also the glorious time before Dubstep. and Arcades were still around.
Although you’re of course right about last generation, be it that both MS and Sony went to essentially 8086 architecture instead of weird power pc/custom strange stuff, both consoles are essentially living room PCs. The Xboned being the weaker and more expensive one. With a stupid DRM scheme. DDR3 is quite antiquated already.
I’m not worried about system wars. I’ve owned a 360. It was a great console. As far as next generation? Unless something really major changes, I’d never own an Xboned. Even if I was living in a supported country, sorry, but I can do basic math.
PS3 was bogged down with the cell processor and developers had to learn how to use it, which most still haven’t to this day. It doesn’t matter how good the hardware is if no one can utilize it. On top of that the PS3 even on paper wasn’t MUCH more powerful than the Xbox, in fact the 360 had a better graphics card.
This isn’t the case with the next gen. Not even remotely. Both consoles have similar architectures, similar hardware, similar almost everything, the major differences coming down to Sony deciding to use flat out more powerful hardware. Also, the Xbox One’s processor with the eSRAM to make up for DDR3 is known to have failure issues (which is rumored to be the reason the console costs more, because it takes more development time to try and fix it per console and more dev time = more money to make). Let’s all hope another RRoD situation doesn’t happen again
Certainly some good ideas. As for the FMV part I think the game engine is powerful enough for it to be animated in real-time. From the demo it looks like the selection screen is static but that could be because it’s an early build with two characters. I’m looking forward to this game as I had a lot of great memories in the arcade with the originals.
I like the character designs so far. Jago’s old design looked nothing like a monk any ways and that super tight ninja wannabe outfit would be weird in 2013. Sabrewulf looks more threatning than Blanaka ever did in SFIV and like that he got his arms back. Since the game is being modeled in 3D they could always release 3D rendtions of their old outfits
Let’s get one thing straight SRK peeps. KI’s original designs were ass. As generic and cliche’ as fucking possible. Jago had the skin tight rips all over from Abercrombie sex shop outfit on, fucking Sabrewulf was a bad looking 90’s CG wolf with a slightly torn t-shirt, and nothing else. Fulgore looked like a teenagers take on a robot Wolverine with Gambit hair, TJ Combo was a black guy in a skin tight USA FLAG outfit and boxing gloves, Orchid was in a skin tight (see the trend?) green outfit that didn’t reflect her role or career at all, and so on and fourth.
Nostalgia has and will override your judgment. The KI designs of old need to stay where they are. The new designs are hot. You are just fooling yourself, otherwise.
Forgive me if this isn’t news my fellow KI3 brethren here as it was for me, but quite frankly I’m startled and am eager to hear what the gamers here make of this.
All of what Microsoft has announced and clarified hitherto has been on the whole more or less unsatisfying to the vast majority of core gamers across the country and yet amongst all those issues this particular one I think may make out to be one of the most devastating ones yet!
It seems that not only will xbox alienate a certain portion of core video gamers thanks for their various policies regarding used games and online requirements but their region locking policy will alienate entire sections of the country for what seems to be a considerable amount of time. (2014-2015)
The race between Microsoft and Sony is obviously concerned with gaining the interest of the public to their product, yet it seems that Microsoft is forfeiting the race completely in over half the states leaving Sony as the obvious option for gamers in those areas;
am I missing something here? Is this going beyond the deep end of poor marketing decision making?
So to those gamers who have remained loyal to Microsoft and have seen and continue to value their console despite all the issues brought up thus far: what happens to such people living in one of those regionally locked areas? Is Microsoft really willing to abandon the remaining xbox fans they have left in those areas to their competition?
@splurgendii, please don’t tell me you didn’t realize that was a parody of the system only being able to work in the major 21 countries on release.
Less console drama, more Killer Instinct. Thank you. That’s why I don’t follow pre release console news. Until the systems come out its always a clusterfuck. Fucking internet.
Sure they are a product of their time but their still cool and obviously with some modern touches it won’t be much of a problem…I fear the lack of news will cause this threat to tun into shit.
The whole game was 90s TBH, right down to the combo names. Hyper, Awesome & Blaster…honestly, who came up with Blaster combo!? That’s just silly!
And even though Nostalgia does sway judgments significantly, bringing back the classic outfits is at the very least a big selling point for Rare & Microsoft with this game. We have close ties to Jago’s first appearance, ripped wife-beater & tight pants and all. Same with Combo’s Fatigue Pants, Spinal’s sword and shield and Orchid’s…ample ensemble. And how awesome would it be to see those same looks in 1080p HD?
Their being more SFs as to why they are better is arguable. I can look at SF2s designs and still like them, which I don’t feel the same about the original KI designs. You mentioned the camo pants, which is KI2, which are admittedly a little better in the design department. I’m strictly speaking on the first game, however.
But yea, Jago’s new design is awesome. I knew instantly whom he was. Mask, sword, hair. It was all still there. And I like Glacious’ look, too. He looks like nothing much has changed. Just brought up to speed and current like he should be. Sabrewful does look a bit rat like, but still better than his Clip Art generic wolf with tshirt ala KI 1.
