Killer Instinct (2013)

Oh wait, I just realized you’re that douche bag Microsoft apologist whose posts keep getting flagged in the E3 thread.

You mean the guy who is being pursecuted like its a witch hunt all for having a different opinion and not falling for the gaming communities"lets jump on this"mentality…yeah that would be and I’m proud for showing some independence and critical thinking.

Just wanted to point out Rare made a bunch of Licensed shovelware prior to their SNES glory days.

And the original KI was THEIR first fighter, too.

There was a bunch of people bashing the PS3 for having no good launch games, being more expensive and being a fancy looking Blu Ray player. Xbox 360 won the pre release rap battle last launch, Sony wins it this year. That’s considering how the original 360’s were prone to breaking and yet the system was still heralded for Xbox Live and having Halo and good games etc.

Same shit, different gen. Words and actions changed a lot between launch and years down for both systems.

Fuck system wars, get ready for Ultra Combos and Manual Breakers. Games are where it’s at and I’m going where the games are. Too many strong people in the FGC working on making this game work (including Filthy Rich and Mike Z) and that’s more important to me than the paranoia behind systems. Didn’t decide to not get into Skullgirls because it was an all girls game from a completely new IP, not going to cave in for system wars crap either.

Sabrewulf needs his bats back. That was one of my favorite moves…

Her new look is probably the most dreaded among KI fandom.

I love her and her storyline (how many Fighting Game ladies do you know actually played the hero of their games? R.I.P. Eyedol) but her look was arguably more 90s than Jago’s. There’s a balance that needs to be had; too sexy and the complaint tidal wave will crash onto Rare’s shore, too dull and she’s forgettable like Elizabeth from KOF (who actually was vital to the storyline.)

Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing a look similar to C. Viper…lets get the SF fanboys more butthurt.

Whoa whoa whoa, back it up.

No shit talking on Elisabeth!

A weaker version of it is coming to PC

Ok guys so here it is…

Like usual Game Spot as well as other gaming review companies and competitive players in the fighting scene perpetually are more focused on the game play mechanics and how true to the KI feel this game will become over the next couple of months in development. However all in all that is all good and dandy but what is equally important that many people forget is that the truth behind Killer Instinct’s historical accolades lie with the fact because of a development team like RARE, they revolutionized the way we listen and jam to videogame music especially in the fighting game genre. In addition to this the story was deep in it’s own right and produced various comic books that panned out the original story of the game with minor adjustments to the original cannon.

Now to answer some long forgotten questions for fans and yours Mr. Tibbs.

First things first, In the far futuristic future the corporation known as Ultratech was a dying weapons and technology company that used their annual martial arts tournament “Killer Instinct” as a means for financial survival. In this Ultratech sold, smuggled, and advertised their own technological based weapons and other sponsored companies as a way to display and bring in revenue to propagate and fund the tournament. These proceeds is what also allowed them to survive. However along the way the CEO of Ultratech managed to come across “time traveling” technology and used this to pull relics, artifacts and then beings from different time frames and dimensions and at some point even warped a part of reality. The discovery of such technology is never explained in the KI story.

Thus what was once a regular martial arts tournament to advertise various companies weapons and technological weaponry at one point, then became a “fight for survival” tournament where if survived your battles but lost your match you ended up disappearing for good. The record of this conspiracy behind Ultratech became notorious enough to where is caught the attention of media, law enforcement, and potential combatants to come. Killer Instinct the first tournament is actually Killer Instinct 2, and Killer Instinct 2 is Killer Instinct 3 and so forth.

In KI “0” Chief Thunder’s brother Eagle was a combatant that turned up “missing” which explains the reason why Thunder enlisted in the next tourney to discover eagles whereabouts. Of course Eagle was dead, he was killed by Spinal who then would reappear in KI “1”

B. Orchid is a secret agent on a mission to find out why combatants are turning up missing while auditing Ultratach for all the financial laundering schemes with other corporations and take them down. She is caught hacking and steeling information from Ultratech’s mainframe and then forced to be a contestant in the tournament. Little did the CEO realize she’d be the one to not only destroy Eyedol herself but lead a barrage attack against Gargos when the destruction of Eyedol let loose massive energy waves that pulled Ultratech 2000 years back in time.

Jago was the second protagonist in KI who was a warrior monk fighting on behalf of his religion called the “tiger spirit”. the “Tiger Spirit” gave him inspiration and enhanced some of his abilities to deal with the unusual fighters that the tournament dished out. However it would not be until the end of his journey that the “Tiger Spirit” was nothing more than the spirit of Gargos speaking telepathically through Jago and manipulating him similar to the Onaga Shujinko case from Mortal Kombat Deception. Gargos wanted Eyedol dead so that a portal can be opened big enough for him to step through.

As for Fulgore the original model was created by Ultratech to be a “perfect” terminator". However the destruction of the Fulgore model by the hands of Jago in KI 1infuriated Ultratech to no end, thus they created a specific newly enhanced model programmed specifically to target and obliterate Jago in KI 2.

Due to Ultratech’s time travel technology they warped reality to a point where they managed to cause the crash landing of Glacius and his spaceship. He is abducted by the army of Ultratech and is given option for freedom and technology to fix his aircraft only if he succeeds in killing Cinder. Glacuis does indeed kill off Cinder but before he can repair his spaceship and return home, he is too ripped back in time 2000 years along with everyone else after Orchid kills Eyedol. However in Glacius’s case he meets an ancestor version of himself.

Cinder was a flaming human torch who was a bad result of a failed experiment, Ultratech promised him a cure to his predicament if he could kill Glacius. Cinder fails not only to do so but it costs him his life.

This is just an example of a quarter of the storyline. I know all of it but Imma make a real time video explaining this stuff in the near future along with ideas that still should be included in the KI 3 game.

Totally off topic but hell, i’ve never seen a most adequate username + avatar pairing. Kudos.

Elizabeth had that Regal, Classy hotness. And dat clevage was delicious son.

Where are these said comics? I kind of want to read them.

Quite a few. Kasumi (DoA), Jun (Tekken 2), Tessa (Red Earth), Arcueid (Melty Blood).

Yeah her look is to 1990s like. I think her look should change as well.

And I like C.viper and how she is sexy in a conservative way. But If your talking outfit wise, I don’t think that would be the right direction since that’s not necessarily her character (also wouldn’t show off her butt)

Something like these may work

Everybody is wondering if it will be good. But I’m wondering if it will be UNCENSORED.

Dudes seriously, just watch some of that Umemaro shit.

No need to be a dick dude!!! People could talk about how hot a character is if they want. That comment was really unnecessary. <_<

True, but you know she was forgotten as soon as “NIPPON ICHI” made her triumphant return.

Uh, Jun wasn’t really the hero of Tekken 2. She gave birth to the “protagonist” of the rest of the series, but canon went that Daddy Mishima dropped Kazuya into a volcano.

As for the others, it can be argued that Orchid pioneered their roles since KI came out in '94.

I just heard during a recent interview that they are running a new version with a combo breaker that can break anything, even those link combos. I’m hoping it costs full meter. That kinda puts to rest all of the complaining about 50%+ combos that are almost unbreakable in the earlier builds.

Jun is the first character selected when on the P1 side. Heihachi dropping Kazuya into a volcano is just how it ended. The plot didn’t follow Heihachi.

Red_Jade_Pheonix - more plot please!

Also, to Mr Tibbs, Rare and KI are both owned by MS. A quick search on Wikipedia could have told you that, though.
