Killer Instinct (2013)

Hopefully this returns

I actually was never a fan of Mai. I mean she’s hot but they try a lot too hard with her. My personal favorite KOF babe was always Vanessa. She’s sexy and doesn’t have to try. Plus she has a badass fighting style.

All of that, and she’s 30!!! You know how Japan doesn’t like women at that age.

And don’t forget her No Mercy move:

I was going to put that up to lol, yeah that totally needs to return

I guess the aim was to encourage you to use all enders but its kinda pointless with new sysem. Enders have unique purposes now (wall splat, launch, meter build, max damage), also you got shadow enders.

This isn’t really fair. That was an early build of the game, how about we save our judgement until the game comes out?

Ok, let’s change the topic to online. They better be using GGPO or some form iteration of it

That sounds really cool actually, were did u hear about it?

Does the commentator go:
C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER

It’s about halfway through the vid on the blog page atm. I like how there are like no real fighting game journalists alive. Max and Ryan Hart were literally raping people that were trying to just mash, yet they say its all about mashing.

Image if they did this for the new KI?

Meh

I always laugh when non FGC guys try to pass judgement on what merits"skill"in fighting games. I remember a similar sentiment from projared talking about how this new KI is on easy mode cause the combos are so easy to pull off and im like dude…light execution is a defining feature in almost every fighter post 09. These people seem to be under the oppression that combos and the execution of said combos comprise the core base of a fighting game’s entire competitive value…as if to say that’s all fighting games are about lol. Marvel and GG must be the most scrubby noob friendly fighters going by these guys logic…

I think that might be a slight exaggeration as to what the position is of those whom have these concerns and makes these types of claims.

I agree with you and I think it’s virtually common knowledge at this point that the level of execution for any given fighter is never directly correlated to the overall skill cap of said game. However it’s an undeniable fact that “scrubby fighters” while they can be argued to be scrubby for many reasons, often times have in common, “light execution” as a prominent ingredient!

Will the “light” execution of KI3 eventually mature into a problem?
Will the game bring with it other game mechanics that will lace well with the easy combos to bring an overall satisfying fighter?
(If you purchase the new xbox, you’ll find out sooner than I will).

You’re right to criticize those who bluntly claim that low execution inherently means a bad(scrubby) game however I think that the execution cap, when it is within an extreme level either being excessively difficult or easy, is something that will have implications for better for worse and is a legitimate point of concern.

How about a PC version for those who won’t buy an XB1?

Remember that first 6 months of marvel 3 when literally anyone could win regardless of skill and age? How did that turn out?

What matters is how the neutral develops and if it is interesting.
