I know someone mentioned the throw tackle meaty but I donât think anyone mentioned meaty after an H shoulder:
Beats wakeup 3F buttons CH
-After cr HP xx H Fireball H Tackle, crLK (whiff for timing) CH M Tackle will hit meaty enough to link stMP
-Sweep CH M Tackle can link stMP
-Ground H Tackle crLP (whiff) CH L Tackle links to stMP
No CH if it matters
-After cr HP xx H Fireball H Tackle, crLK (whiff for timing) CH M Tackle will hit meaty enough to link stLP
-Sweep M Tackle stLP works
-H Tackle crLP (whiff) CH L Tackle links to stLP
Ran a set against a FANG player earlier. I feel like it will actually be a rough MU for him, but need to test some stuff before Iâm sold on it. Was just wondering if anyone run into this and had thoughts on the MU
Urien as of right now doesnât do to well against pressure. That fact that FANG can frame trap us is a worry. Also, I believe FANG can reliably escape Aegis to.
I just need to know if Iâm really shitty or if he canât deal well with pressure. Sorta had the same issue with birdie and alex, with alex to a lesser extent but outside EX headbutt im not sure what to do.
Like I said before my main issue is cammy, sheâs always given me so much trouble. With urien, iâm not quite sure when her turn ââendsââ As in, she does her frame trap cr.mp x2, but then remains at a good distance/hit advantage to throw out another normal, safely crossup, shimmy back into her best range, etc. As in, iâm not sure what the best option to end her blockstring loop is. EX headbutt can interrupt the frame trap but a meterless option would be nice.
I ran a FT10 with a friend who is admittedly better than I am who uses fang and I was having a hell of a hard time. I ran into a couple fangs on ranked and it was the same. Urienâs fireball clashes with one of the nishikyu projectiles but you still get hit by the one with the higher arc, so itâs not in your favor. Tackle is nullified by ryubenda. His lack of a 3f jab makes fangs HK a legit threat in neutral. It looks like fangâs zoning can outdo urienâs space control.
Random factoid: standing medium kick, while a very good button against most lows and generally, will NOT work against any attack that low profiles. The hitbox will actually whiff completely over their heads even at point blank range. This includes moves like: Laura cr.mk, Chun cr.mk and slide, Rashid c.mk, and Juri cr.hk. Basically, if you can do the move to make Mikaâs drop kick whiff, it will also make s.mk whiff.
I figured this out after I played a ~15 game set against a good Laura player and I was trying to figure out a counterpoke for cr.mk and it just wasnât working at all. I plugged the moves into http://toolassisted.github.io/LOL/ and discovered standing medium kick simply canât hit low profile moves, Urien is too tall I guess. I also didnât even know Lauraâs cr.mk was a low profile move, who knows anything about that character.
Yea thatâs a lot of what I took from it. Armor kind of falls flat trying to catch stuff given how his moves hit; Nishikyu really keeps him at bay in particular.
One thing i noticed was urien can sMK over ryobenda if spaced well.
Iâve been waiting videos and according to frame data knee smash is horribly unsafe, but can be made safe depending on point of impact? Like if the opponent is crouching and hits on last frame itâs safe?
Also is the prima guide correct? This would be the fastest they got dlc frame data up.
Prima guide is loaded with inaccurate information, try this link instead: pastebin.com/d200zTrp
As you can see, all versions of knee dive can be safe on block if they hit meaty enough. In practice you wonât land them meaty except off of a setup.
Yo I agree, his FW.MP is amazing. I had trouble with a Gief for one match yesterday, then discovered the F.MP tech which basically stopped him from doing anything. It was out of the range of his V skill if he didnât pre-emptively release it, it stopped him jumping before he even really got into the air, stopped him dashing forward, and stuffed his V trigger when he popped it. I literally didnât have to use another button for the round haha. The only thing I got hit by was the occasional random SPD from range which grabbed my FW.MP.
I guess making sure you have your V skill activated is a must in that matchup then, that way Ryobenda wonât be a problem right? Will probably throw some FANGS off too when you go right through it, may stop them from throwing it down so often.
Fang is definitely a character youre going to have to get in on. Youâre not going to be playing long winded zoning games vs him unless you like being purple.
I think Birdie will be a good match-up for Urien. Headbutts ignore Birdieâs litter and armoured headbutts will break through his peel+chain combo. He doesnât have any options to punish V-Skill other than dolphin dive and chain, which can be spaced pretty easy when your far away. Good long range anti-airs and long buttons mean that Urien contests more space than Birdie can forcing him to play aggressive with that aweful walkspeed he has.
Cammy is just straight up fucked for Urien though but AAing divekicks with up-ball does feel amazing when you get them.
Oops, I had a feeling Prima guide data wasnât updated since LordWilliam said EX headbutt is now -17 on block. I might have to update my previous post too.
Donât know if itâs common knowledge or not but Urienâs beta mix up of :
Cr.hp, h.sphere, v trigger (far), knee press, f.mp, headbutt
It does not work anymore
If your using it, donât expect a mixup at the end
Doesnât matter much. All of your ground buttons are better and you have other specials you can go to for damage. This isnât a Guile/Cammy situation in the least.
