I keep getting EX Poison Sting by mistake with the piano method. If I slow down I get nothing. I swear I’m not pressing two buttons at once.

As has been stated multiple times in the thread, cr.MK into LP hands seems to be her most important tool. At that range, she cannot be punished by DPs or SPDs.

c.lk, then just piano c.mk like normal.

If the c.lk wiffs, c.mk comes out, if c.lk hits, you get c.jab. Just do it midscreen until you got the timing down.

Is it possible to combo into the EX slide?

Ha I somehow managed to miss page one. Oh well. Looks like I’ll have to get that down so. Not much Chun or Honda experience and only really used hands with gen in combos. I was hoping her punch target combo would allow hands between the hits or her close standing fierce like gens target canceled to mk and standing fierce. I have a solid method for getting hands out if she did. Instead it looks like whole cr.mk thing will need to be drilled into muscle memory.

I’m liking cr.lk cr.lp cr.mp into run slide as its very similar in time to guys combo, just a little more strict, means I can teleport away on block or slide for the combo. She’s a lot of fun.

You can do it with a Red Focus combo… Ex. cr.MK xx LP Rapid Dagger(3 hits) xx RFA, EX Scramble(LK+MK) > Razor Edge Slicer

Overhead after a perfectly spaced LP rapid dagger is good against lows. Hits meaty and you can link after.

Punishing blanka balls are pretty much the ONE thing that matters in the mu, look for some blanka vs thawk

Is only Air Throw possible after Sting xx FADC? Was hoping for more possibilities

I really like DeCapres design and etc…but I think she’s really weird. Her moveset is lackluster imho Whats up with that Air Spiral arrow? I can do the IA Spiral Arrow, but whats the use for that? You can’t get anything out of that.

Her Scramble options are weird, the EX Cannon Strike doesn’t allow for much, you can link a s.lp/lk, not even a s.mp. Imho her game will revolve around the s.mp > s.hk TC and Scramble mixups. However, I think shes really vulnerable risking for those mixups and the risk/reward factor…sigh…atm It doesnt favour her.

I agree with the “too soon” argument, I get that but these are my impressions ATM. She needs dedication and hardwork deffo.

Don’t get me wrong, not hatin’ just stating my view on her, but I will work on the character and find my way =)

As a veteran chun player i do know the impact of punishing balls on the blanka MU. If you CANT punish blanka balls then you are mostly f*ck´d against decent blanka players, if you watch closely you cant use u2 ground version as if whiff, even DASH ULTRA WHIFF. ITOH AA u2 is a FREE PUNISH, not even reversal needed. There are more things in all the MU granted, but being able to punish one of the most used and hated moves in the game is pretty good in my book.

Now go to training and practice, then you can come back and say “hurr derrp durr”

Strongly disagree, IA Ex Spiral is fireball invencible so you can actually use it as a decent punish tool plus depending on the distance you can combo into mp or Ex stinger for 320dmg and 400stun, if you ask me thats nuts. Fun fact, IA spiral is +9 on block according to the frame data APP, insane to gain some ground and to get in.

Her moveset is not lackluster, is just not traditional, even for a Charge character. Ex divekick is insane + if deep enough, more testing will give us better ideas and understanding tho.

Dont you forget that she is a charge character with above average walkspeed and normals, far fierce is stupid good btw, nobody uses it yet as a whiff punisher or even as a poke or Far AA ala far fierce from gouki.

Im very excited with this character is so much fun just messing with her in training i cant wait to fight ppl with all the bs Im developing.

I’m a Blanka player since Vanilla…

Since the AE nerf, hori balls is not really a factor against 99% of the cast, since only LP and EX retained the recoil of previous iterations. EX is not a viable tool to be used at random, for obvious reasons. LP has little range and travels slowly.

With the exception of Hawk, all other characters can punish a blocked MP ball and even Hawk can punish a blocked HP ball.

Not to mention that the the hitbox and hurtbox of the move were nerfed pretty hard since Vanilla.

So, the ability to punish horiballs was important only up to SUPER, and even then only on low to mid level of play. On higher level it was never the most important thing in the MU.

To say that now, in 2014, is only ignorance of the character… wich, curiously, is the only real reason behind all the Blanka hate online

I agree with her far fierce being pretty good as a poke, its about all i could do trying to fight a pretty decent makoto last night… but that match was just hugely bad for me lol

I also think her stinger is a really shitty option for jump in cross ups, it always whiffs

in the corner cl.mp and overhead as those have 1 point of juggle for a reset

By any means I’m trying to say she’s bad or even medíocre, I agree with the “not traditional” kind of character. I like her, so I’ll also push it with her.

I just don’t want another character that won’t go far due to limitations.
