Kill... Kill... Kill Them All! The New Decapre General Thread

:frowning: i know

i got my l1 on ps3 controller assigned to lp and it really made it a lot easier for me. get cr.mk/hands to work pretty much 100% of the time now. iā€™m not even sure how i actually do it but i think itā€™s something like - cr.mk (circle)/hp (r1)/lp (l1) -then roll my thumb from circle to triangle (mp), then press r1 then l1. just got to practise it.

i remember when i was scrubby at this i had a stupid discussion with veseruis about how it wasnā€™t worth it because it wasnā€™t safe in certain situations but i feel like a total scrub about that now because iā€™ve figured out how to space it lol.

landed counter hit cr.mp - ultra 2 for the win in a really close match last night. loved it hehe.

arguing with me usually makes people seem dumb.

Man ex hands seems always worth it even if they block it. No one ever pushes a button so you can keep pressing em with cr mk or foxtail or st fp or whatever. If they actually have the balls to press something I dp next time and scare them back out of it. In the end itā€™s a 5050 but the risk reward seems better for decapre just cause you gained the ground and you can just chill on block if you donā€™t want to gamble

depends on if the other person understands what 0 on block means. Once people know the matchup theyā€™ll start jabbing etc.

Man some of those Omega mode normals are nice. Iā€™d love to have crouching mediums that slide, close strong as a command normal, and omega standing forward. Seems kind of odd that they removed hands though. Does Omega Scramble have any follow ups or is it just a mobility option?

Iā€™m really loving this 5 frame far strongā€¦ and really hating the strong->fierce target combo lol. The new hands FADC combos are really nice to have as well.

Nobody is going to start jabbing.

try playing good players

Hi everyone,

Iā€™ve looking for setups after landing U2 and also what to do after landing a stinger on the ground. I get to punish some normals with that but I havenā€™t been able to convert that into pressure of my own. is there a way to meaty slide safely/safe jump/os or anything?

Oh right, also, are there any setups for 3f wake-up reversals?

Thanks a lot. Been playing her ever since the character came out but itā€™s my first time posting here

use youtube search. Type WHY CANT DO ANYTHING RIGHT?!?!. Go fishing.

hold up forward after u2 jump HK is a safe jump on non 3f
3f is unsafejumpable. dunno about fake safe jumps.
no pressure after stinger except in corner.

Anyone see that method of cr MK in L R - Daggers that Xian mentioned? Cr MK + LP, then run your finger from LP to your L1 which should be remapped as LP as well. Itā€™s interesting, to say the least. What about you guys, how do you handle cr MK into R - Daggers?

really?

Lol. Yo Roy, you might get blown up for asking this question in here, as people in here seems to have a low tolerance for newbie questions, especially hands.

But everyone has their preference. I personally donā€™t use cr mk hands as much as maybe mp, coming from playing Gen in 2012, and using cr mp hands instead.

But look at the hands thread here if you havenā€™t already.

I havenā€™t tried Xianā€™s method yet though.

yeah, because reading 3 threads and billion post regarding the whole cr.mk xx hands talk is not enough

I was just trying to gauge what other people thought about specifically Decapre, not so much tips. But I digress, Iā€™ll draw back my questioning. Not worth the negativity or getting blown up as you say.

Donā€™t mind him, heā€™s just grumpy. I mean I would be too if I bothered to respond to every repeated question that gets asked here.

To be honest dude, I think most of us here have found our method on executing c.MK xx LP Daggers consistently. Thereā€™s no real right or wrong choice. If Xianā€™s method works for you, then go for it. Once I understood the requirement of hitting the 5th punch button within the cancel window of c.MK, I just worked on my own method.

Furthermore, the dedicated Hands thread has most methods covered in case you got stuck. Once youā€™ve found it, just put in a serious grind in Training till you can also do it consistently. All there is to it.

Ehh, Iā€™d rather not deal with remapping a button. I have the far right buttons disabled, so Iā€™d hate to hit it on accident. I just piano LM-HML or slide it when Iā€™m lazy. I keep my thumb on MK so that I donā€™t do FADC or RFC on accident. For standing Strong to Jab Daggers Iā€™ve been using the same ML-HML that Iā€™ve been doing. I stopped getting the target combo by closing the gap between my L and H input. Pressing Fierce quickly enough after Strong prevents the cancel from happening.

Somethingā€™s been bugging me after this weekend also. Itā€™s the success some Decapre players are getting from playing her like a bootleg El Fuerte. Most recently I watched the Evo champ Luffy lose to an online warrior Decapre who landed more crossup HP break than I could remember. I was just surprised at how he was seemingly unable to deal with all the unsafe shit being thrown at him. The guy couldnā€™t even cancel normals into Daggers. Was still enough to get him pretty far though. Worst thing was I realised it was the same dude I played a set with online and I exposed all that unsafe stuff pretty freeā€¦

Donā€™t even know what the point of me mentioning this was, Iā€™m just annoyed that people are letting this gimmicky shit fly.

I wasnā€™t so much asking for help with it, more so literally just wanted to see what people thought of it. But I get that Iā€™m annoying as well, or at least I can see how constant newer Decapre players asking the same questions can get bothersome. Not what I intended. Most of what Iā€™ve based my Decapre off of is watching other people play, trying to reciprocate it in matches, then going into training room to practice a set up or two Iā€™d think of in a match. That and to work on consistency of cr MK xx hands, and Stinger FADC U2, now that it works more consistently. Having a lot of fun with her, and itā€™s nice to see so many dizzies. Not like when I play as DeeJay, haha.
