So damn proud even though he lost as well, Such great play and loved the overhead run cancel.
Good showing Mike.
Kreymore I also want to get sets with you on XBL.

Is there a stream archive or youtube upload anywhere yet? I really wanna see the pools!

Nonchalant appearance by you in that vid. Classy outfit btw.
It’s all about supporting your teammates! And Thanks, I try.
I’m still super proud of Mike going from random scrub to actually having a moment to shine like this, it’s only going to get better from this point on.
He’s been working his rear off, now we just gotta teach him how to keep his cool and not give his health away.
Tell him to get on xbox live every now and then, I miss the mirror matches
I’m sure that you aren’t satisfied with your final placing at SCR, but congratulations on playing so well. I have a hard time believing there are other Guy players who are better than me; however, I do so willingly when I feel that it’s true. You’re one of them. I’m a fan. After watching you play, I want to start playing again. Or, at the very least, I want to be active in the community again.
Keep at it! And, learn those safe jump (or, empty safe jump) setups! Seeing you get hit by those uppercuts was a little disheartening.
You left us D:, and left with an ego… get out
Not being able to go to NEC really took the drive out of me. I took a week off work before the tournament and wound up getting awfully sick right before it. Afterwards, finding time to play was rough, and I’m not the type of person to do anything half-assed. I’m a perfectionist.
As for my other statement, I can see how I may come off sounding egotistical, so let me clarify. I don’t believe that I’m better than everyone else. I just have a hard time believing there are others who think about and play Guy the way I do. These people are the ones who run around with reckless abandon and don’t want to admit that the style just doesn’t work in this game. It drives me nuts watching these people play. As a result, for the most part, I don’t watch replays of Guy at all. However, I do have a very short list of players whom I really respect and admire (Kreymore and Lumina1re). And, I watch their gameplay as often as I can. I want to like ISM Tanaka and NegroMat/Marc Teddy, but I haven’t seen enough of them yet to judge.
Although I do like to yell “I’M THE NUMBER ONE GUY” when I’m getting hype, I know that’s not the case and likely won’t ever be the case. I’m not even the number one Guy in my city. That’s why I’m a lab rat who makes videos to help other Guy players.
And, Blood, you’ve gotten so much better since the last time we played (Dante too). I see those FT10 concept matches! I’d love to play everyone online again, but my internet connection just isn’t stable enough to do so. I was going to come to one of those CT locals in December until something last minute came up.
I’ll be around the boards more frequently. Seriously.
We have a tourney next month on the 16th if you can make it, I know a lot of folks should be coming in again like last time, and we always do an as expecting CT dinner after the tourney, I honestly have to agree the rushdown aspect of Guy doesn’t work out in the fullest, I honestly only think 5-7 other Guy players fit your description with Kreymore and Lumina1re, and Marq/Tanaka seem to be to oriented on rushing down… after seeing all the posts in the AE changes thread and recently finding my SD card… I’m making a Guy tutorial vid cause… enough is enough…
Yeah, I think I’ll be able to make it, especially since I have the Monday after off from work.
I’ve got a few video ideas as well, but I’m not sure if I’ll find the time to make them.
Tourney is a Saturday
Thanks guys, appreciate the support, sorry I came up short but next time I will be better prepared. Although I strived to stay solid for the entirety of my matches, I cracked late in several of my sets over the weekend, but hey, shit happens (went 0/11 in money matches LOL >.<) and it was a fun weekend. I have a good idea of how to better prepare for future tournaments, and thus continues my quest to continue to improve.

Sorry, something last second came up, and now I can’t go. I will be going to go Winter Brawl, though.

Useful. Especially because any experienced player will always look to punish the run slide on block so you may get a CH or a throw.
From my testing Neck Flip (running overhead) combos into crLk easier if the opponent is ‘Crouch Blocking’ vs just crouching. I tested this on Ryu and my results are as follows: Neck Flip vs crouching, Guys foot will hit on top of his head. Neck Flip vs Crouch Blocking, Guys foot will hit on top or around Ryu’s shoulder, being closer to the ground making easier to combo. This means creating a Block String into Neck Flip is good vs maybe using running overhead full screen. ‘At least now I know why sometimes I can get the link and sometimes not’. I tested this on Ken, Ryu, Juri and Blanka so far… Blanka is by far the easiest one to combo Neck Flip from because you can combo Neck Flip into Ex Tatsu without counter-hit for 240 dmg and 300 stun.
Is the Guy forum dead? Ever since the SRK update - it seems that way.
Yep, pretty much I think.

Hahaha.

To be honest, I haven’t really posted anywhere on SRK in general since the update. Not sure why. I’ve probably only posted a few times tops since it hit.

I was actually gonna make a video about some really effective OS’s with Guy but my motivation has sort of dropped
with the lack of activity on here.
