Mk and lk tatsus give you the same timing as the four hit hk tatsu. So, in the corner, an OS mk tatsu will get you the same knockdown, meaning you can back dash, lp hozanto, to get +1 on block or on hit, you can juggle U1. Better than c.hk, because that might get a CH against some reversals, which causes the knockdown to last longer. You’ll whiff lp hozanto.
I found a couple of OS’s with guy that could be useful.
The first one is something lots of people knew but I’ve never seen it used this way, basically its an anti crossup air grab, you do qcf then up and back and punch to do the instant air grab while jumping backwards, and if they are in front you’ll jump back and grab but if they cross over you will jump forwards and grab them.
Its good against things like vipers burn kicks and awesome against crossup tatsu, and its also good for divekicks.
You can catch dps and still be pretty much safe.
The other one is using the ff chain where basically you do st.lp as normal then you do mp but you can change the mp so that if the jab whiffs you get something else.
You can do st.lp, down back mp, which works against ex seismo.
You can even do st.lp, f.mp to get the overhead which you can then cancel into something else like ex tatsu or something.
I havent tested much but I know it could be useful with more experimenting.
has anyone seen the jump cancel that wolfkrone came up with? i was wondering if anyone tried to do anything like this with guy? and maybe if its possible with a normal. that would be amazing in the corner for a counter hit ninja sickle into U1 (ive been grabbed out of it countless times)
I didnt know wolfkrone came up with it, but yeah he tutorial i saw had guy using run stop to escape abels tornado throw which is awesome.
It doesnt work with normals though as far as i know, what I really need to try is escaping demon flip setups from akuma and gouken.
Does anyone know if you can jump cancel with backdash?
i dont think he came up with it. but i saw him do it with a normal character. i saw someone else do it with zangief first. where did you see that tutorial though?
You could try finding wolfkrones youtube page (porkloafking I think) and looking through his comment history. He commented on a tutorial with it saying he’d mess around with it a bit before he made his video with it.

The problem with JCing is it has to be a read, if they don’t grab and do a normal you’re getting blown up…
That’s a good find; despite it was discovered a little while back.
So here’s what I got in mind. Do jump cancel ex run stop on wake up. This will defend against both throws and normals no?
If they do a meaty you’re getting hit, if they do a throw you’ll do EX run or just jump with the heavier kick. The only way that will work is if they do a delayed normal on your wake up.

So the chain option select thing i was talking about before is awesome against any dash style attacks like makotos dash punch or whatever, basically you do jab then downback medium punch and then be ready to hit confirm into either the chain combo or start your combo with a counter hit crouching medium punch which will get you a lot of damage, it makes it so much easier than just trying to time your attack.
Well ninjas, I’m about to head out to SCR, gonna do my best to rep bushinryu for all of you, it’s Top 8 or bust! But either way, just gotta make sure I do better than Floe and Mark Teddy lol, I’m not satisfied with those 2 representing Guy for USA, no sir. I’ll do my best to play on stream for you guys =)
