So I went to Connecticon and dominated AE tourney got 2 gift cards to Gamestop 100 bucks and a free pass to next years AE. Tourney was basically free no one knew of unblockables and how to get out of Bushin flip loops and the tv had a small bit of lag. But nothing major.
Sadly I come home to my xbox having the R.R.O.D. Oh well… time to now get a slim :D. It sucks though every weekend away from home, My xbox has an issue and now its permanent :l. Time to forward ports and hit up GGPO.

Has anybody figured out any Forward Throw set-ups against Ibuki and Blanka? Ibuki’s crMk beats Cross-up and Elbow Drop and Blanka can spam upball and electricity.
I normally just do dash forward twice, walk a slight bit and jump. if timed correctly if a safe jump cross up, there’s also the option of immediate runslide, then forward jump but that’s a bit trickier to get as you can make j. mk to whiff based on timing. Aside from that you still have the standard safejumps and empty jumps.

I’m having trouble with a cross under combo seen @1:00 Here after I land the cross under I can’t seem to land the follow up cr.lpx2 into Bushin chain. Is t only possible when a human opponent blocks the wrong way and not possible against auto block CPU?
Yes, it will only work against a human opponent or a training dummy set to “No Block.”

I’ve dropped by here a couple times, as I’m turning Guy into my secondary, my main being Hakan. Anyway, I discovered that EX and u1 throws for Hakan can throw Honda out of his EX headbutt, if timed perfectly (when U1 wins, Honda is diagonal in his headbutt, just starting up). So I tried to do it with Guy’s U2, and it worked. I don’t have a particularly good set up, but the way I did it was to shadow kick, neutral jump, U2 but with an extremely slight delay, letting the stick go back to neutral for a frame or two. If you do it immediately, Honda is vertical, so it’s too fast. Anyway, hopefully, if there is a more consistent set up, you guys or I will come up with it. Not sure if U2 is even good against Honda, but it’s clearly better than it was, if you have set ups that will get Honda’s EX headbutt. Maybe just a fun fact, if nothing else, that Honda’s EX headbutt is vulnerable to slightly delayed frame invincible throws. (Other throws will get hit out of it, of course).

I was messing around in training mode and found a new(I think) meterless corner combo into U1 : cl.st.MK > cr.MP > TC (st.MP > st.HP) > LP Hozanto > U1. 460 damage and I dont think it’s 1f into ultra,seems rather easy to land and the combo aside from U1 part in the end works anywhere on the screen.
[S]Haven’t test with all char yet but definitely works on Gief,Hawk, Gouken,Hakan,Sagat so pretty much those that can be hit with st.HK > st.HP > st.MP xx special (except for hakan) doesn’t work on Guy and Seth though.[/S]
1).Full combo into U1 works on : Gief, Hawk, Sagat, Gouken, Sagat, Hakan, Abel, E.Honda and Dudley
2).cl.st.MK > cr.MP > TC (st.MP > st.HP) > EX Hozanto/Runslide (LP Hozanto will whiff) : Juri, Makoto, Chun, Cammy, Dee Jay, Fei and Guy.
3).st.HP will whiff against the rest of the cast.
4).If you perform the combo after a jump in j.HK the full combo into U1 will also work on : Blanka, Rufus, Vega, Yun, Yang, Bison, Dee Jay, Fei and Guile.

it does work on Dudley and few chars that st.HK tc doesn’t though and it looks so cool and maybe it’s just me but for some reason I find this one easier to connect into ultra.

I’m an Ibuki player looking to learn more about Guy. He is one of the few matchups I really don’t know a single thing about because I have probably never played against an actual good Guy except at some random times on XBL ( I recently played a pretty good one named karambajulien if I remember correctly and lost to him).
As a result, I attended Summer Jam and was looking forward to make my way out of pools for the first time, but I ultimately lost to a very good Guy player, without knowing what was I supposed to do during the match. He basically put continuous pressure on me and since I don’t know the gaps in his pressure, I got counter hit’d a few times and… Low stun/health bar Ibuki, you know. I also lost to another Guy player in freeplay, who actually got knocked out by another Ibuki player in the tournament named Mingo. If any of you who I met this weekend are here on this forum, well… hello, and great games! I was playing with a red Qanba, wearing a custom cap with Damascus written all over it. And I have a French accent. Maybe you remember me =)
So if any of you would like to get some Ibuki experience and show me a bit more about Guy, just add me on XBL: Damascus06 . I am in the NY area so I’d preferably like to play with as little lag as possible (ie. if you live in India I don’t care about you adding me )
I would say I’m a pretty “decent” Ibuki though I tend to be too much of an autopilot sometimes and I often loose as soon as I actually need to use my brain during a match. Theoretically speaking I know a ton of stuff about my character, but I’ve still yet to apply it in a match lol.
