Wow Guys footsies were great in Alpha 3.He could counter poke with the best.
This is why I’m so excited for the st.mk buff in AE.This is what it could potentially be like.
We never get to finish them lol the connection would always crap out.
still doesnt change the fact that we need to do one now that I’m actually getting practice in rather than just one day… weeks go by, play again.
has any one seen any videos of kiryu recently? on his ustream channel he hasn’t put up any recordings in an entire month. i’ve only seen one video of him playing since the release of guy’s new alt and that’s it. maybe he’s waiting for the guy changes in AE or something?
BAH. I check his channel about 3 times a week and haven’t seen anything new since the 10 - 18 - 2010 vids he’s posted. I loved the fact that I got fresh Guy vids from a good player, and now that he’s stopped I’m having withdrawals. Shin Akuma has a pretty good site, but unfortunately most of his Guy matches came from Kiryu.
You can find him all over the replay channel in SSF4. He’s still going at it
Just search Kiryu Tsukimiya in Youtube and then use the upload date option.Theres been like 10 replays of his in the past couple of days uploaded. This is how I found out how he has begun using U1 more.
thanks man… just did that and a bunch of vids came up. guess i’ll be watching them for the next few hours. thanks again.
trying to play street fighter on stick after your fingers are blown up from rock climbing is pretty hard, lol. just saying
you guys probably thought of this already, but i noticed that close standing hp -> lp hozanto combos, and that it does more damage than TC-> lp hozanto. i know you guys use c.lp, close standing hp as a frame trap, but i think it’s especially powerful in the corner because you can get about 64 more damage over using c.lp, TC->lp hozanto if you FADC the hozanto into U1 (assuming enemy has full life)
c.lp, TC and c.lp, close st.hp are equivalent frame traps (between c.lp and TC/close st.hp is 2 frames, ideal to kill enemies that don’t respect run stop and mash on jab), so i think if you know the enemy is mashing on jab, use close st.hp in the corner before hozanto fadc u1.
I bet Kiryu is pretty busy at arcades right now.
Or maybe dissapointed about Yun and Yang and retired. lol
does anyone have any tips in landing hp after BC throw? I sometimes miss the link.
PS. nice avatar streak
P-link the st.HP. Or, if you prefer pre-SF4 method input help, try double-tapping the HP button. You shouldn’t have trouble hitting the st.HP, since it’s pretty fast. However, you don’t have that much time either. Personally, I miss HK Bushin Senpukyaku a lot after the Bushin Chain throw ender.
This avatar is actually pretty old. I’ve used the one you’re probably used to seeing since right before SSF4 was released. It’s kinda sad that Image Mishmash has lost almost all of its av makers.
sweet… looks like i was right… yun’s palm does have a projectile hitbox so i think it’s a safe bet yang’s is too. so forward hurricane that shit.
Shoryuken - Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition - Yun Primer by BLG Juicebox
i was juiced to read that… and then i read on and saw that yun’s shoulder even goes under low tigers… what… the … fuck.
Like Streak said double tapping works for me.If you want to do any reset using a normal move double tap it.I’ve been double tapping jabs recently.
I’ll try both in training to see what’s more consistent. I have no problem with jab but why use that when hp does more damage.
Also, does anyone use FA lv3, cr.jab at the end and dash behind them for reset? People don’t see that a lot so it works sometimes.
I made a video about this a while back:

cool, I’ll try to use that, but if I have U2 in stock, I’ll go for the latter for more damage. It’s hard enough landing FA lol.
It really depends on what you want to do after the reset. You use standing or crouching jab for the dash under / dash on the same side shenanigans. You use standing fierce canceled into a special move for the Bushin Flip trap (really risky against a character with an invincible move) or counter-hit fishing after a Run > Stop. It’s nice to mix up both options.
you can’t dash after hp? I could have sworn I’ve done it before but it might be harder I guess. Gotta test it out more
