No ski, it’s not the same guy. Though they both have sick ground games.
(KFG) Deshiken plays a nasty Ken.
Deshi plays a nasty Alex.

A nasty Alex? I’ve been wanting to find more serious Alex players vidds or something.
Anyway, back on topic, Ken is not cheap, and while he has nothing hyper-abusable, most people would argue that his SAIII is walking the fine line of abusable. Damn near full screen contact off an opponent’s whiffed move, connects off almost anything you randomly throw your oppnent’s way, come on. Maybe not super abusable, but definitely shifts the balance of power out of alignment.
Even making ken block certain attacks with a frame advantage of -3 or bigger is putting the attacker at a risk of a free SA3 reversal.
hi edward masters!
i am a ken beast now, my strong XX fierce XX hadou XX shippu comes out like ants when it rains. we should get some games in at famurii fan!
third strike is sooooo much better than cvs2, you were right!
red ken rulez!
Well it hasn’t been too long since I’ve decided to pick up this game. Ever since evolution 2K4, and Daigo’s history making come back I’ve tried to emulate a similar situation. Here’s a vid of the set up which I did 3 times in a row. What I realized was that during the second time the parry flashes Ken was flashing white, but during #1 & 3 they he wasn’t. Can anyone explain to me just why and how did this happen?.
I haven’t really heard of any difference between a non flash/white flash parry… then again, I’m not the resident expert on third strike, maybe i shouldn’t be answering. I mean, did YOU feel a difference in your motions? In the timing?
The main reason I’m here is to flame  Daigo did a shoryu following the c.fk, hits a little harder. If you were in that now classic match, with that fireball you’d be risking J Wong having a sliver of health left.
try some red parrying now
Now back to the topic - I take Ken and ryu into battle sometimes just to fuck around, Ken has SOOO many options, against pretty much the whole cast. He really has no bad matchups…
poor Ryu
Really?, I didn’t pay attention to the damage. It looked like alot, probably even enough for the kill.
ken is awesome. i love ken. although ryu is just insane in sf3. if you can catch some one at the right moment with ryu. the fight is yours.
You do more dmg without the fireball.
About Shinpu not doing a lot of damage…this isn’t always true. While doing short short super while they are standing does modest damage, doing something like cr. strong link to sa3 while they are in crouch stance(which happens frequently) does solid damage. Add in the fact that he has multiple meters and a high priority poke gives you a lot of damage potential.
I’d have to agree that Ken takes skill to play since he has so many options to sort and choose from. He has to work hard to win but certain characters like Urien and Makoto have attacks where you are thinking it will be the end when you get grabbed or something. I play Makoto myself and it’s so much easier to do massive damage with her than Ken whom I mainly use. Still, she can only do that in certain situations where as Ken has the ability to do damage anywhere and more importantly without meter. Ken is definitely a non bs character compared to other top tier. Shoto players have been around forever and it’s style is nothing new. It’s just a fact that Ken’s solid and it requires the player to really outplay the other person without relying heavily on one trick.
Shippu hitting while your opponent is crouching isn’t a big difference. not like say, Shinkuu Hadouken or Messatsu Gou Hadou or Corkscrew Blow among others.
with Shinkuu, MGH, and Corkscrew Blow, your opponent is crouching through all the hits of the super while with Shippu (and even Houyoukusen), your opponent is crouching only for the first hit then immediately stands up so the 25% damage penalty for crouching doesn’t really come into effect. in other words, if Akuma does close s. forward link into Messatsu Gou Hadou on a crouching opponent, close s. forward will do 25% more as well as all 6 hits of his super. Ken linking into Shippu from c. strong on a crouching opponent, only the c. strong and the first hit of Shippu will receive the damage bonus.
so really, the only hits that make some sort of a difference when connecting Shippu on a crouching character are 1) the move you use to link/cancel into the super and 2) the first hit of the super, which, regardless of what you do, doesn’t do much damage in the first place.
Dont’t feed the troll…
Ed Ma, the master.
scrub.
3s = Skill
scrub.
I always thought linking the C.MP is kinda hard.
Also the mk overhead is kindah hard to link into aswell.
I would say standing fierce on a crouching hugo to super is the hardest thing to do.
ken is secks.
dont hate <3
