Haha, wow I read the whole thing. I understand Ken would be a character that requires skill. In terms of options you’ll be doing a lot of ground work with Ken. Nor will you get the mixup game that other characters posses.
Less clothes you wear the better
Ken needs urien diaper
Haha, if that was true then why isn’t Urien top 3? :wgrin:
I wonder who would be top if it was judged by clothing worn.:chainsaw:
Pink Dudley and Q, instantly.
i approve this thread!
Have you noticed that all the top tier characters are the ones with the higher number of hit confirms? They are based on mixup aimed to hit with confirmable pokes. Even Yun, he activates Genei Jin and you can’t attack, but he has to make an attack or a command grab to hit in order to deal damage. It requires skill because you have to know how to play properly.
Urien has less option, a very few one, and he requires skill to deal damage. When he has the opportunity to land an unblockable, his execution must be good.
C’mon guys, 3S requires skill no matter the char you pick. Even Ken, the most intuitive of the cast, requires skill in the sense that you need to mix up well if you don’t want to be parried; and this is true for all hit confirming characters.
The only thing you coul’d complaint about is the fact that some characters are stronger than others, but even with them, if you want to compete at high levels, you have to know what you are doing. You are speaking of Kens that throw confirmable pokes randomly, or Uriens that spams random headbutts into setups, I’m sure that these people don’t usually reach high places in tournaments, except Game Stop ones
Also, there are some characters that are low tiers but some people can’t deal with them. I’m a scrub and play with friends that are beginners like me. If I take Necro, I can attack safely from distance and from in close, they can’t parry my attack, I can abuse of random blockstrings based on drills, Tornados and Necros best pokes into thick throws. If I play with Ken, I don’t have random moves that pushes me forward near to the opponent with free frames of advantage to work with. So, if I continue to spam with Necro, I’ll have the illusion that I’m playing good, but I’m simply spamming random things on my poor opponents, and when I’ll go to fight a good opponent I’ll realize I’m a really bad player. If I play with Ken I can’t spam, I have always to think. So, I’ll stick to Ken until my level will get to decent, then I’ll probably switch to a more thechnical and less random Necro. Obviously, I’m not saying that Necro is stronger than Ken or he’is abusable, it requires much more skills than Ken, so please try to get the sense of my argument.
Damn, I wish I was good enough with Ken to argue points like these. Props guys. (Yes, I play SF3 leisurely)
