Possibly dumb question, but has anyone noticed that at about max run range if you try and throw you’ll get a s.lk?

I’ve tried this a ton of times so I’m about as reasonably certain as I can be that it isn’t input error, and when I turn on inputs it definitely shows lp+lk being pushed at the same time. When I try it at literally any other range, I get throw as expected.

The range I’m talking about is if the opponent is in the right corner in Bustling Side Street and you put your front foot on the white parking line you should be able to recreate what I’m getting.

Yeah it happens to me too, it’s weird but I get around it by hitting forward at the same time as throw

Yeah I do the same thing and just hold the direction I want to throw.

My concern is that if this isn’t an isolated case, then there would be specific ranges that you want to do one thing and end up doing another.

They are all -5 except for LP which is -9

So you’re not going to eat “fuck you” CC damage… but you’re going to eat damage.

j.mk into s.hp will crush counter 3 frame moves.

Use heavies for pressure, but j.mk for crossups and counter hits. jump heavies into anything make true blockstrings.

-5 is not that bad considering you can cancel M.DP into super if you delay the input

Yes DP cancel into V-trigger saves half your ass basically. The problem is that it’s -5 yes but there is the v-trigger freeze before so it’s annoying because it makes it quite easy to punish since it ruins the surprise effect. But it can definitly catch people who were already thinking “sweet CC combo here I come”.

you avoid the fierce / roundhouse starters too so that’ll seriously limit anybody’s combo damage

Why do ppl say Ken has weak FB and Ryu has “good” ? is it because Kens FB are -4 on hit ? Or there is projectile travel speed difference?

Ken and Ryu’s fb have the same startup (14 frames) but Ken is 3 frames worse than Ryu on hit(-4 vs -1), on block(-10 vs -7) and on CH (-2 vs +1).

Ken’s fireball all have 34 frames recovery (33 for ex).

Ryu can alter his recovery frames for his fireball.
lp is 32
mp is 34
hp is 35
ex is 33

Ryu also has denjin.
The only thing Ken beats Ryu in is that EX fireball is +1 on block. Ryu’s ex is -2.

As for travel speed, i’m not sure. This is also not taking account hit and hurtboxes either, it there are any differences there.

Ken fireball are really weird, I mean I fear the day I am going to fuck up and fireball on Laura from too close, hit her and get punished by CA. I think it’ possible since Laura super is 4 frame start-up, I need to test that. His EX is cool tho.

Interesting. I assume this is when the j.MK is blocked? Might be a nice alternative to going right into s.LP close pressure after a blocked crossup.

Babybel is my number 1 Ken. But he plays more to my play style. You might like more aggressive Ken like Chris T. I also think Brentiscool is the second best Ken I’ve seen. He really could have beat infiltration if he didn’t drop so much.

After I block an ex air tatsu from Ken, what dafuq can a ryu do to punish? I eat a dp everytime. Fawwwwkkkk!!!

You talking about blocking Ken’s EX tatsu? He is plus on block. You have DP/AA it or just block.
