Try some run combos again and instead of going for cr jab after v-skill go to lk tatsu instead. If it works, lk tatsu startup has indeed been reduced to 3 frames and his run combos still work.
Also try mp srk to hp/ex srk in v-trigger mode, that’s another thing that was supposedly nerfed.
Also, Air tatsu used to drag the target towards Ken, allowing high damage combos, it doesn’t anymore.
They took away all of Ken’s fun combos ;_;

I don’t think there’s any point playing him right now. He feels very unfinished. Gonna wait until the full release.
He also lost ex fireball into shoryuken in the corner and ex fireball into ex tatsu at half screen. Not a bit deal but I suppose this means less hitstun on ex fireball.
He generally feels really weak at the moment, and nerf on run is not fun at all.
They may as well have removed St.Lk from the game…

Meh Ken is not so good now
You can still do fun combos with Ken, the changes mostly hurt his neutral.
It’s beta. They change things around in the beta. They put up beta for a reason. It’s for people to test the servers generally. Not to really go in & find stuff. I personally don’t like the fact that they’re changing stuff, but I’m also not getting too hung up over the changes & how bad his step kick is or his run. But I’m also trying to wait until the real game comes out before I decide to keep him as a main.
I’m actually one of those who be going to travel, too & hope that he’s not too lackluster to the point that I have to leave him behind. Cause I like the character. I like Ryu, too but Ken’s more suited for how I like playing. I like Ryu, but I just don’t prefer to rely on my fireball game the majority of the time just to win. IF he does turn out this way, then I’ll still play him, but just not as a front runner. It’ll be Either Karin, Cammy, Laura, Ryu, or Ibuki (when she’s released).
Ken was nerfed so bad im 15-0 in the beta.
I’m so sad, so many nonsensical changes that have just made him worse at what they’re trying to redesign him to do - rushdown. Between him and Charlie for worst character in-game, my money is on Ken though.
I’m 22-0, it doesn’t change a thing. Ken just doesn’t seem that fun to me anymore.
Maybe your not using him properly. I enjoyed every single match excpet the laggy ones. Maybe you just miss kara throws and step kick. (If you mained him in ultra) but to each its own.
only thing i dont like is the unsafe step kick.
