Keiji Inafune has resigned from Capcom and will leave at the end of the month

Jun Takeuchi was announced as his successor

In both cases you’re, in effect, persisting your way through a level, bulldogging, getting lucky, memorizing enemy and jump locations or whatever the only difference is the latter is more time consuming.

I’d disagree with easy games being inherently bad too… I mean many of the most critically acclaimed newer games are pretty easy unless you go out of your way to make them hard… your half lifes, call of dutys, devil may crys, resident evils, grand theft autos, god of wars, marios, et al.

Not to mention it’s more common ( imo ) for a game to be hard for shitty reasons. Then again, I consider games that make you start the whole thing over to be hard for a wrong reason too… since there’s a tendency for players to quit over tedium rather than difficulty in those cases.

I’m not sure if you are for or against KI and what he’d done. On the one hand you are all “Go indie and make that money” but on the other hand you slam him for wanting to keep his original ideas? I don’t even think that was the point he was trying to get across was that he had to share. I don’t think he ever stated in that interview that he wished that Megaman was all his. And honestly he had to have known that Capcom would claim his work as their own. It was his company too.

I just think the point he was trying to make was that now he’s going to protect what is his even more.

In all honesty outside of brick and mortar retail what need is there for a publisher anymore? If me and nine other guys can make a game and put it on Steam ourselves why do we need a publisher? Possibly for marketing or more money but as KI states there are other ways to get the funds you need.

Meh. No one can fill Inafune’s shoes. Just like no one can fill Mikami’s shoes or anyone else shoes creatively.

Faulty argument. Lives != challenge. N+. One example of many.

Dr. B’s blood is 1UP mushrooms.

While I appreciate his efforts and his candid “real talk” style interview… good riddance… he’s been responsible for only two games I’ve thoroughly enjoyed as a producer, Minish Cap and RE4…

I really want Kamiya(I own/played at least half of the games this guy has made) back for a better Devil May Cry than those douchebags at Ninja Theory could ever make…

Dr.B’s semen resurrects the dead and cures all diseases(no homo and I suck at this gimmick)…

EDIT: Well actually I take that back… he’s responsible for more games than I originally thought… NOOOOO!!! Inafune come back… you single-handedly may have destroyed DMC and I’m a bitter fanboy but seems like you weren’t running out of steam anytime soon…

Yeah, leave it to the professionals.

N+ is a great game

btw that’s gotta be one of my fav Dr. B quotes yet

Dr. B hooked up to a life support machine reads [GAME OVER_]

I’ll only slam him if he did give CAP his best ideas. I made an assumption/ bet that he is salty about MM.

You should get clowned for something like that, give a company a good idea then wonder why you’re not getting credit.

What’s to not understand about that? Either you’re bored and want some one to continue to discuss something or you’re really not reading a single word on your screen with a shred of comprehension skills.

I’m, most definitely, against what he has done to DMC. I’ll never forgive him for that, but that has nothing to do with creating something, giving the idea to your job, then wanting to claim it as your own after the fact that you willingly gave up something you created. DMC is not even KI’s creation. Kamiya did that, but he’s no longer at CAP too. HK wasn’t too fond of the “new Dante” either since that character was his idea, but it doesn’t matter. He gave CAP that right to own his creations.

That’s like being a ghostwriter/ ghostproducer for Def Jam then Jay-Z pays you, then he puts “written and produced by S. Carter” on the song. Since the song has sold thousands of units, NOW you wanna be in people’s face like, “No, I totally wrote and produced the track, and should get all of the credit”. I does not work like that.

That was my point.

Yeah that’s true but like he said if the game is a bust the company and fans are quick to get on his case but when it does good it’s all because of the company. That’s what is making him salty.

Hey now, you didn’t need to go that far. I’m not trying to pick an e-fight. You clarified yourself. That’s all I was asking for.

^that’s coo’.

My girlfriend sucks pretty bad at all things video games. Not once has the fact of save points discouraged her from continuing to play or lessened the overall experience of the game. This is just one person, but it seems that hardly anybody else seems to have an issue with the fact that save points do equal infinite lives but you. Flower is as relaxing as Katamari Damacy or K.Forever on eternal, you just get to enjoy the experience, explore and take time to appreciate the work that went into it. “Meaningful” varies from person to person.

Games are not less fun because of fucking save points or not being able to die, just go play the games that have the design choices that you like.
