ScrawlFX Keiji Inafune Leaves Capcom
4Gamer Interview (JP)
[???blog"]Keiji Inafune Blog](http://blog.daletto.net/inafunekeiji/)
WOW and to think I just met him at NYC Comic-Con and got a signed Megaman Legends 3 poster from him…
I hope whoever takes over is a fighting game fan.
Holy shit, that’s huge. I hope whoever takes his spot will be able to live up to and excel past what Inafune brought to Capcom.
For anyone worried, I don’t think this will affect MML3’s production…tho it might have it delayed…but it won’t be vapourware…
+1 Ono
This seems random and sudden. Profits were down but not like bankrupt.
EDIT: Dude just hated his job :-/
True, I’d say he should join everyone else that left from Platinum Games. This is big news though he helped build Capcom’s major franchises… SF1,2… Rockman series. This kinda sucks but he a grown man who hated his spot. Let that man get some rest. Hope Rockman Dash 3 (Megaman Legends 3) still goes hard in the paint though.
He’s talked about hating his job for a while now. I’m not surprised in the slightest.
Is the guy that decided it was a good move to revamp DMC? If so, bye, be gone! Take your Capcom needs westernization with you!
The “westernization” is probably the reason he left. You typically don’t resign when you’re happy with the direction your company’s going.
You’re gonna fault him over just one mishap?
Isn’t he the one who said that Japan is five years behind? If so, sucks to see him gone. Capcom needs someone with an eye for truth.
gamers are an unforgiving group of dickheads.
he’s done a lot of great work over the years so thanks for the memories and hoping that MML3 is still on track.
I think he wanted to have some games be different than what they came out to be (for exmaple Dead Rising 2 has very little changes from the first game).
And Capcom scares away another talent. What a surprise.
I just woke up and saw this myself and it sort of made me do a slight double take. I missed that interview where he said he hated his job and it’s kind of saddening to see him go. By the sounds of things it looks like he doesn’t want to do anymore projects after MML3 (if that’s still in development) so that’s going to be his swan song to the game industry I guess. Though I disagreed with the man’s ideals about things in japan needing to be ‘westernized’, He still brought plenty of things to the table and helped shape the industry to the way it is today. I give this man the salute and wish him well in whatever he plans to do next.
On a side note, does capcom only have Ono now?
Good work over-simplifying a very complex problem.
The MODOK version of Dr. B still attracts cloned Beyonces like white on rice.
Instead of being immature and calling people names on here, look at his recent work. RE5, DmC, Dark Void, Bionic Commando, he’s headed in the wrong direction. We can love his classic stuff, but still notice that he is lacking of late.
