The way they did Gouken’s counters are weird. Actually mid counter worked best rather than low counter against most characters. The bigger the hitbox the better he could counter. At the same time it sucked for Gouken because some moves looked like they should be a low counter but you had to do mid or vice versa.

Chun has a decent low forward but the issue there is that she usually doesn’t have a safe special to buffer it into without meter. People have said it might be confirmable though. The shotos do, but they were complaining about the range. Viscant was complaining about how Bison had a hard time getting people to sit down because he had no cancelable lows.
I guess they changed their view around the time of Vega, and they might be retroactively adding some power to it on past characters.
No one has gotten range 1 yet, have they? I wonder what that character would look like, if Mika doesn’t suit.

I thought the “technique” stat being maxed out was weird at first, but now I remember her fighting style combines a huge amount of martial arts… makes me wonder how much training she’s gone through ever since Alpha 3 in terms of story.
I wonder if capcom thought if they gave her the complete moveset she’d be overwhelming for newer players. (All though she is definitely not for newer players.)
I think the technique tab doesn’t mean how hard it is to do inputs or number of moves but how hard it is to play the player and take advantage of all of their tools. Birdie is really simple but to play him well you have to really know what you are doing, cammy has low technique on her card and I always viewed her as a player that if someone who just liked to pressed buttons picked up they could do aight (not saying she’s shallow, but easier to play for people who aren’t deep into fighting games)
Karin can do sHP - vtrigger - crMK as a combo. She can actually do something like sHP - vtrigger - crMK xx rekkax3 xx super though the super would be scaled heavily
QCB and HCB. Don’t you see how those two MIGHT have an overlap issue? What they could have done was make her QCB + K into DP + K and made her command throw HCB + K
She can but I think her crMK reaches farther and is her sHP special cancelable?
