It’s being streamed on niconico atm, dunno if that is rewatchable.
None of his inputs overlap, closest is his SPD + K with his hcb+K which, IIRC, they made his SPD+K a little different from standard SPD input so it’s a little more strict with the UP input, standard SPD requires only 270º (Half circle + any up) I think Hugo’s kick SPD requires a 315 input, you need to do halfcircle + TWO up directions specifically to reduce the accident of getting SPD when you want Half circle.
His inputs are
QCB +P
360 + P
QCF + K
HCB + K
DP + K
I would like to know, if capcom consider make her rekka usable without V-trigger with less options, while V-trigger version retain crossthroughs and overhead options as enchanced. + V-trigger 3 bars and last as long as current?
Wouldn’t it be sweet, if we lose her qcb+pp reversal, and instead have counter OR command through as well?
No it wouldn’t. And I don’t want Capcom to make her Rekka normally usable if they take away the entire reason people would want to use Karin’s Rekkas to begin with, which is the branching options.

She jabbed the sideswitch ender @1:20. I guess it wasn’t before d+mp, but it’s been stated that d+mp isn’t a true blockstring so I’m pretty sure we’ll be seeing some mashing to hit out of it in the near future.
For personal preference’s sake I’m glad I don’t have to do any DP inputs. Given the fact that cr.MK cancels are going to be a regular thing, and it will most likely be important to get the earliest cancel possible into her command dash, I wouldn’t want to get any accidental DPs with that while walking forward.
Yeah, I got it. But first I want to clean up the categories a little since the TGS video section is getting long.
If anyone needs to find any info after the discussion has buried it I’m trying to add stuff to the OP so it can be a reference. For example it lists which normals are cancelable and a general rundown of the special moves. In the long run it should be pretty thorough so that whoever makes other threads on release can reuse it if they want, whether that’s me or not.
If they kept the change from recent builds you can VT from any non-airborne normal regardless, so she could do it either way. But yeah, she already has cancels on a lot of heavier normals compared to other characters, so that change doesn’t really affect her much unless it’s actually possible to link from a light attack canceled into VT.
Is she the first character with only one crush counter?
I’m not certain about this but I think you might have been misunderstanding me or I’m misunderstanding your response right now.
I was referring to doing sHP - VT - crMK rather than sHP VT sHP because the crMK reaching farther would make it so that you could do sHP at max range - VT and you’d be sure that the crMK would hit where as a second sHP might not due to pushback. Then I followed up that thought with the question if sHP was special cancelable at all, if not than it’s always better to go for the cancelable crMK.
Okay, yeah. I was making a side note on the general idea since I wasn’t sure how widespread that VT info was.
I haven’t seen many people canceling heavy normals on the floor. They most likely don’t remember or never rewatched the trailer, being actually at the event.
Given the current setup, I guess there are cancelable whiff punish options for high normals (fierce), mid-level (strong), and low (low strong), in addition to the general pokes and v-skill. Long-distance s.HP xx qcb+P would look cool.
I hope so. I’m starting to open up more to her new changes and stuff. Things just aren’t clicking yet I guess. Need to see more footage. Hopefully some with high-level players -_-
The developer using red Karin is Ayano, vs. Mago using the SF5 character for the first time. Later in the video is Sugiyama (producer) vs. Tokido, who uses Rashid.
It seems pretty clear based on properties of the moves that they designed some of them just to catch mashers. MK upkicks is the non-VT version, and since rekka step 2 d+MP combos to the followup on counterhit, it’s probably meant to get counterhits as well.
