Karate Kid remake

Thanks.

I’d be down for that.

What’s funny is that his older brother has an afro.

fuck a karate kid remake and fuck will smith for his shitty idea

Just saw the trailer. Seems kind of bleh, but whatever. They obviously trying to turn it into some sort of comedy flick as well.

i’m actually gonna pay to watch this. which i rarely do. but im going in with the mind state that this is a stand alone film apart from the original series. plus i love anything to do with will smith since fresh prince, and i gotta pay respect to his boy

Jackie Chan as Mr. Miyagi, that enough sends chills down my spine.

He put his name on that gay-ass db Evo. He seems shameless. He’ll do it. And of course there will be pathetic wire-fu, as in all the movies I’ve seen Fat in.

i would love to have an influential dad who could pull strings to create a movie that his son can do.

the only dad that would be better is a superhero dad who could make you his sidekick, or give you his legacy of saving gotham after he dies or something

cant remake a classic :coffee:

Meh, the trailer doesn’t look like shit, but it doesn’t look like gold either. This movie is obviously for infants.

i like that its in china and its more centered around kungfu this time, it has possibilities of starting similar to the old karate kid but the sequels can branch into there own story, based on the differences of setting, being relevant to our time, and actors themselves.

yea who really cares if its a remake? hell, scarface was a remake and no one said shit about that movie back in the day and thats one of the greats!!!

they are already changing so much with it from fighting style to the country, its not replacing the classic it’ll be its own movie because things will be different from the ground up. i’d just wish they changed the name to “The Kung-fu Kid” to more accurately push that its more of it’s own story than what we’ve all been disappointed with so many other terrible rehashes in the past years.

if u think about it it could be set in the same universe and the little kid isnt ralph maccio’s character but just another kid in a similar situation who needs to learn martial arts from a helpful adult to overcome bullies who pick on him. that story isnt so far fetched to not occur in different parts of the world throughout history itself and since its this new kids story in the same universe who says everything past those similarities stays the same?

its going to be different not just a rehash and it’s will smith’s son he wouldnt let his kid be apart of anything that would be crap cus that comes back on him. and i cant really think of alot of movies (if any) will’s been that was just terrible cus he’s a pretty decent actor himself. one of the highest paid actors in the business too +0

i think it will be a pleasant surprise to watch and they’ll be alot of haters not because its a bad movie but because its different from its original. they’ll complain its not like the original and wont give it a fair viewing as its own movie about a kid in a similar situation about a teenager in america who needs to learn martial arts to overcome bullies but gains self respect and discipline through training as the higher reward than hurting others that hurt him.

After seeing the trailer a second time, I actually think that Jaden Smith is copying the style of his old man. Seriously, especially that last line of “That’s messed up”, I swore I was looking at Will Smith delivering that line.

I guess that if you can’t make it on your own, just copy your dad and be fine! :wonder:

That’s probably why the older son is playing football.

This is the first movie where chinese people are bigger and taller then black people.

My gripe is that the kid is learning Kung Fu and yet its called “Karate Kid”.

Seems to me like the producers were like, “All that chink shit is the same. No one really cares.”

Are they really going to do that? Why would it be so hard to do Kung Fu kid instead?

This.

If my friends decide to go and see it I’ll tag along for kicks and giggles to make fun of it, but I won’t go and see it on my own. Waste of time and money for me.

Saw the trailer for the first time earlier today and I have to say that this movie doesn’t look like complete garbage.

But to echo what everyone has been saying on here-- why not call it kung fu kid??

man why would they remake this shitty ass movie.
