@exmortis: Yeah, I realize I misspelled canon. Lol. Btw, if anyone’s really interested in the Sf canon here is a link to what I feel is the most comprehensive guide to the Sf universe so to speak:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/coinop/arcade/file/564869/26094
Pretty much taking into account almost all the capcom games that ever had any of the sf cast in it. Mostly from All About Capcom, responses from Sirlin and many other Capcom staff. It’s quite a read and an intersting way to take a break when your thunbs and wrists are tired from too much fightings games.
@Axiom: I understand you point. I’m in the same boat myself. SF4 is my first serious attempt at getting really good at SF games, too.
@Ben-ra: I have similar issues losing a lot like you when I get to play serious SRK players online in general.
Adding those psn ids from the midwest database and playing them really has taught me quite a bit. As well as reading the Guile threads here. I’d ask more questions in this thread, but nobody else mains Guile or Claw like I do. And not to knock on anyone’s explanation techniques here at SRK, but I’ve found I’ve learned more about Guile from reading the SF4 character threads at http://www.neoempire.com
They don’t have a thread for Claw yet, but they do tend to explain things in plainer english there. Heck, reading that stuff is how I’m learning Guile’s ex focus cancel, special move cancels, and kara throwing. Stuff I I’m still trying to work into my normal play.
Speaking of which, it just feels like there’s a steeper learning curve when it comes to playing pro in SF4. Maybe because I haven’t been playing 3S, MvC2, or GGXXAClike many of you have these past 10 years… While ya’ll were enjoying that I was scrubbing it up in SFA3 and KoF. So yeah, I sometimes feel like I’m 2 games behind or something.
I will get better, but baby steps for now. If being able to eek an occaisional win against some of you is any indication, there is hope for me yet.
