that DNS thing can also be cause within your household due to your router and wireless connections.
i’ve seen that when wireless devices come on line they will conflict with the PS3 ip causing an internal DNS issue.
-Luigi i know you have 2 netbooks AND you g1 so this might be PART of your problem. theres also port forwarding and whatever chachi posted up above.

-Kong, taping your matches can help. it helped my crew alot back in the 3s days. i dont know how youre going about the recording but we have lots of problems with lag because we did it through a pc. then we split the video feed, one to pc- one to tv… but that made the picture look like ass… then we started playing 3s on mame instead of ps2 and recorded it in the mame app i was using and that was finally a perfect setup
