I try to keep it to a minimum, since I can’t get a decent connection even with some local players. I prefer offline hookups, but if you see me signed in I wouldn’t mind playing a few matches.
Tommy- GGs. Study up on your ultra setups, Ryu’s Metsu ultra isn’t meant to be thrown out randomly. It has a lengthy recovery time, so missing with it leaves you wide open for damage (as Ben and Lyquid were more than eager to show you). I was the Ryu player, Ben was Rog, and Lyquid is maining Akuma this week.
Speaking of which, thanks Ben and Afro for showing up and keeping me away from 3S. :tup:

To my knowledge, KC has never had the scene to support a monthly, and now we finally do. It’s a beautiful time to be a fighting gamer. SFIV out now, Blazblue and T6 coming out later this year, I’m hyped, and every one of you should be too.
Chris Wright said he’s coming to the hookup at my place this Friday, so if you guys want a crack at him, you’re welcome to show up. We will have 3 setups running again.
Vince, your setup was used, and I’m grateful you let us have it. I’m sure I’ll have great need for your kind of generosity more often, now that we’re planning monthlies.

EDIT: Oh yeah, you should probably be aware that the original bar fights run by gootecks out in cali was actually a series of exhibition matches between top players, not a tournament. I don’t think it’ll be too big a deal, you just wanna make sure there’s no confusion on that point.

I know that but was think of maybe having something like that and maybe see if a few of the SoCal or EC players would want to participate.
We’d have to give them a legitimate reason to drop whatever they’re doing and fly over here to cremate us. Unless somebody decides to add a $1000 bonus to the SF4 pot or something stupid to that effect, coast players aren’t coming to a Midwest regional monthly.

Also, if we’re having monthly tournaments, why not make it a ranbat style, seems to be all the rage currently.
