Also, Nick, you can confirm your combo with st.lk > st.mp > hp.Tornado, or swap the st.mp with cr.mp. I think it’s easier.

ggs to all. good advice from nick and le last week. tryin to implement into gameplay. goin back to basics…who am i kiddin…i’m systematically learning abel. can see improvement but my execution is still lacking. he’s really execution heavy compared to other characters. good fights with rog and viper. tryin not to rely on U2 so much as EVERYONE cries about it. we’ll see what i have for you guys next week.
Yeah man, I was actually starting to notice this a little over a week ago. But alot of the times i jump alot to see if my Fierce Punch will actually beat out a characters air move, like last night I noticed my heavy kick beats out some of rufus stuff more as opposed to my jump in fierce. It’s still terrible i know, esp. when for some reason i think i can do crossups with balrog. I’m def workin on that link i kept missing on you, with that H.K. crossup, St. Fierce, cr. Med kick, to l. scissor kick. Does pretty good damage.

Sorry I missed out yesterday. This coming Friday, I’ll be at the Global Dance Music Festival downtown… BT and Paul Van Dyk are headlining, so I’m pretty excited. I forgot that was this week, so regarding the RR, I’ll either have to play all my matches gauntlet style when I get home, or I’ll just have to sit out of the ranking this time around.

Boxy vs Nick huh… Hm… I wish I knew who to place a bet on. I know Nick is the smarter SF player, but yet the Achilles heel that is Boxy just keeps shutting him down. It’s 50/50 as far as I’m concerned. If I had to put a bet down … I’d say Seans consistency gives him the edge. Sorry Nick. . . you gotta take one off him man.
Since I haven’t improved like at all while Kong’s been gone, I’ll just shrug and say I’m not at all surprised he’s back on top, and hold off on a challenge.

glen’s helpful tip : cammy U2 > U1 against rufus. why? a smart rufus will know that when cammy has ultra, rufus’ dive kick game is thrown out the window. alot of rufus’ will want to dive kick alot after knockdown. U2 creams that game.
downfall - you need good hand eye coordination. if rufus does a quick dive kick to where he doesnt touch you and you do ultra, cammy is gonna receive a beating. 1 frame startup so if a cammy player can spot a dive kick, bust out the ultra. it does 10 less damage than a full U1 and we know getting the full U1 on rufus is like 1 out of 50.
anywho, take away rufus’ dive kick game, rufus becomes not so godlike. rufus has nothing new against cammy. venting is good and all, but whining about this and that is just sad. ex jesus kick thru so and so and hit comfirm SA blah blah blah.no one should be whining, BUT…if i had to choose who had more to whine about that the other, it would be nick. like i said cammy > rufus.

I’ve pretty much played SF4/SSF4 casually for a while now, and I’m getting really into the fighting game scene. Since playing online isn’t really helping me get better, I think I might come out to play with you local guys this Friday if everyone is okay with that.
I’m probably pretty scrubby compared to the SRK standards, but hopefully I can learn a lot from the more experienced players.

Glen - I pretty much agree but I don’t think Boxy likes using U2. I also agree that I have a ton more to bitch about in the match up but I don’t like to whine about shit personally. If I can’t find an answer to something, that’s my fault. Deal with shit like that is just part of playing the match up, good or bad, in my opinion. Boxy just gets salty when he loses and I think he still has it stuck in his head that cammy is some low tier piece of shit and that I can mash the stick with my face and win because I play Rufus.
I have this spare 32" standard def TV, I’m wanting to give it away for really cheap, something like $20. I figure I’d check here first since setups are sometimes needed for tournaments and hookups.
Rob abel’s U2 is fucking amazing. There is no reason for you not to use it if the opportunity arises. If people get hit by your U2 because of their errors than thats their fault so you should punish them to your maximum output. I mean yeah we all cry about it but that just means that we respect it. IMO the more you use it the faster you find yourself understanding how good it really is.
Finally someone who agrees that cammys U2 isn’t all that bad.

Ok, so I’m an idiot. The wedding I’m going to isn’t until next weekend. How I fucked that up is beyond me. But the Maxout move sounded like it still worked out better for a lot of people and I will now be able to make it to both the RR this weekend and maxout!
Also, I don’t think Cammy is bad in this game at all. I totally agree that she is in the top 10. Most of my ranting came from a feeling like Nick and I’s match ups are looking a lot closer than they should IMO. I’m getting hit by ultra a lot which is evening things up. It’s my fault for getting hit by them, doesn’t piss me off any less that I get hit by f.lk~hk->Ultra anytime I try and space out a safe SA. They gave Cammy no leniency on the spacing of SA which sucks.
Glen - I can totally see how U2 is useful against rufus and most likely any rush down oriented character without a fireball like Dudley or a Cammy mirror. Nick is right though, I’m not a fan of using it myself but it has it’s limited place. It’s like me trying to use Dudley’s U1 against fireball characters or Blanka. Unfortunately I get tunnel vision when using ultra’s like that. I think the rest of my game would get worse and I would only be looking to hit ultra if I used it. That was my major downfall when trying to pick up Akuma in vanilla. I got demon on the brain and the rest of my game suffered.
