I realize I am not that good. I believe in time though that I will become a good player. The reason I’m bad in arcade is because I’m so adept to the ps2 controller at home that I can’t pull off a lot of stuff in arcade (such as ahvb). Even if I were to play at the level I play with a controller, I would still need work. I’ve played for less than a year though and if you add up the hours I’ve played on a stick, it’s probably around six altogether. Give me some time and hopefully things will turn out well. And I wasn’t trying to say that Chachi and I are high and mighty, I just thought it was funny that he got that oh crap face, and then the guy picked Jin. Thereafter, we knew everything would be ok.
Never did I say that I was any good at Marvel. Only reason I go to Powerplay is because that’s the only neutral ground where fighting game players can meet up and play something. Hopefully nobody miscontrued my statements and thought I was some amazing player just because I can counter some shit by mashing out random supers.
That being said, I shouldn’t have to attach a disclaimer to every post I make saying that “I am not a great 2D fighting game player, and as such nothing I have just said should be taken into any consideration”. Can’t I just have fun playing the damn game, even if I don’t win every match I play?
And yes I did notice that the 1p side was fucking up. It was still doing the random assist/inconsistent blocking thing. But I sucked it up because it was casual and there was nothing else to do on a Monday night (besides Heroes, wrassling, and Bauer Hour)

But some things need to be made clear here. Over the last several pages of this thread it would appear that Mortis and Lyquid are the only serious players of games in KC. And based on the last few exchanges it sounds like they know how to play some ggxx at a fairly decent level. Going on about Carcass Raid Loops Yukinose and people picking Robo-Ky then getting owned because they didn’t use mats and all that.
I’m sorry, but it’s time for a Kansas City Reality Check. While Mortis and Lyquid may be cool people, neither of them is any good at ggxx… at all. This is not a flame but a matter of fact.
There is only one and a half people in KC who actually play this game with any level of skill at all (and no, none of us are on the national level). Those people are myself, and the half is my cock (cause he be fucking up). Only one of us actually play constantly me. I haven’t been down to play because the sticks have been fucked up and I’ve yet to report a good working situation. As of Saturday February 17th both sticks were still NOT in an acceptable condition. We got the 2nd player side fixed and it is acceptable. The 1st player side still needs a new stick, they have a Super Stick in there instead of a Competition stick and it is not hitting the corners like it should and making blocking insanely difficult. One of the non-tech techs is actually kinda cool and said he was going to try to either get the Jackass real tech to fix the shit or he was going to find the right stick and put one in there and try to make sure it is actually working. (We’ll see how this goes.)
