Kansas City Area Gaming version 3.?

While I see what you’re saying, this is flawed logic. The varying play-styles of each person adds a significant advantage to the team with more players. The team with the larger player list will have to adapt to fewer play styles than a team with less players. While the number of matches is the same, that fact is irrelevant. Not to mention the team with fewer players will have less time to ‘rest’ between matches and less time to gather up strategy against opponents while they are playing others.

Sorry, but there is no way I’d do a 2 vs 4 even if I did think we were better than you guys (which I don’t necessarily).

Well, you could always invite Tre and the gentleman who shows up to play every Saturday night (I still don’t remember his name, but if he’s played at least weekly since Fun Factory, he can’t be that bad), if you need numbers.

I’ll be at the end of the bench if you need me.

Damn, you telling me I gotta rep KC on my own?!?!?!?

Well, so be it. I’d rather have you along for the ride, but I could do this alone if necessary. [/cock]

Or you could somehow convince St. Louis to come down w/o NKI for a “warm up” match and play 3 vs 4. You, Chaz, Me, vs whoever decides to come.

If I had it my way, I’d do 1 vs 5 for $200. Cause then I’d only have to beat 3 people.

You play. just pick megaman cable tron =p

Wow, Mr. Allen is so uber watch out guys he will pwn.

Don’t forget about me

I know I am a scrub but I would like to learn how to play MVC2 again.

This all sounds like just talk anyway. It doesn’t sound as if Alan has the time to go to STL (not to mention I have no idea what the rest of our schedules are). And it doesn’t sound like STL is even entertaining the idea of coming to KC. So what really is the point of it all?

But to bring the truth for real…

I’d be willing to bet that Alan would own STL. No, he’s not on Row’s level, but he’s far beyond anything STL, KC, and Joplin had back in the day. FAR.

Now, granted I don’t know where or what STL is doing in Marvel these days, but given the extreme hiatus they took, and only picking it up again here recently, even if they’re better now than they were then, that really still says a lot. Sure you may still have what you had then, but that isn’t going to work on anybody now with any level of consistency. So the new stuff you bring will have to be stuff I haven’t seen or simply can’t do anything about. The Midwest (save for Chicago) has never had and likely still doesn’t have anything that I can’t at least deal with. And let me tell you, I’m a HELL of a lot better at dealing with things now than I was. …so if you still think Cable is a weakness of mine, you’re sorely mistaken.

This brings me to the variables…

Chris (that’s the guy who plays on Saturday that no one seems to know): I highly doubt he’d be good enough to face STL with any sort of success. However, like the rest of KC, his play-style is very “strange” and would likely allot him some unexpected wins.

Tommy, completely RANDOM on what would happen here. Technically Tommy should be owned by STL, but his play-style (when not brain farting) is sick and quite unexpected. I would actually venture to say that if his head was in the game he’d get more wins than Chaz or I against STL.

Chaz, he’s going to do the exact same thing he did before (and I don’t mean in-game) and it will work. Chaz will talk shit and win. It won’t matter that STL may be better, it won’t matter that it wasn’t pretty. When people lose these matches they will walk away and ask themselves “why the hell did I lose that?” “what the hell happened?” “Why did I just give him free money?” Chaz does not lose money matches. Understand this, accept it.

Tre, he won’t play. Maybe for fun, MAYBE. If STL’s down for some Gear though… I’m betting he’ll be all about it.

Regardless of the status of the idea of a team tournament some regular matches would be nice too, since the competition scene for Marvel has all but disappeared. Let’s not forget there is also the St Joe guys (if they’re still around at all) and other tournament formats like King of the Machine.

Get the shackles off of your feet so I can lose to your MSP some more. I need to figure out how to break that team (maybe learn how to block and finish combos consistently along the way).

Powerplay has Wi-fi, so you can play WoW on your laptop while you wait.

^^ Adrian’s Blackheart is my kryptonite.

If anyone tries to play any top tier team (MSS, MSP, Santhrax, Matrix, Row, Scrub) that people in Seattle plays, you will lose. I’m so used to those teams and I doubt you’ll play better than Seattle players.

I guess lets just have fun this Christmas =P St. Louis won’t come to KC, and I don’t plan on going to St. Louis just to win $20 from Rex.

Marvel for fun is always fun.

I guess I’ll have to find out about STL Marvel at the Columbia tourney in January.

Yeah, that’s why I proposed doing it at Midwest Challenge, in February. If that doesn’t work, maybe we can take a road trip one of these days.

This is why I don’t want to play for (much) money against you. I have played against the other KC guys, so I at least have a general idea of how good they are. I have absolutely no idea how good you are. It would be pretty stupid (or pretty cocky) to wager a large money match against someone I’ve never seen play before, especially when that person plays with Row and JMar.

And that is very intelligent of youl. Absolutely no cock here, before Trance moved out to Seattle to go to school, he got OWNED if I tried at all and usually ALWAYS by Adrian.

I have only played him once in the past 2 years and it was not pretty. Adrian didn’t get quite “destroyed”, but it was definitely a battle and I believe LS lost more than he won.

Hey guys.

Hey guys, I’m new to the MvC2 scene(been playing MvC2 for about 8 months, about 7 on console.) My name is Josh (guy in green shirt), as Drew knows from the matches we had a week ago. Drew and I played quite a few rounds together. I think it ended up about 60-40% him or about 65-35% him for the most part. I’m still getting used to the controls on arcade, but I’m learning fast. Adrian, I’m the guy that played Sentinal, Juggernaut, and Captain Commando against you with the spiked up hair in the front the last Saturday before this one. I would be willing to take advice on here and in person about the way I play and how to improve because I want to get better. Also, I would be willing to go up to Powerplay during the week for some 1v1 with someone for fun.

So does anyone still play GG anymore? I’ve been playing some more again and it’s hella fun, maybe we can get some games in? Or is it dead now since it’s gone from PP.

Really -.- I remember getting 1st and 5th at the two tournements I did play in.

I wonder why I can’t find myself in any tournements after Jan 11, 2003. Is that when FF lost Marvel?

If you’re going to start learning Marvel, you might as well learn Santhrax. It’s probably one of the most balanced teams. If you play in KC, you might as well switch storm with Cable, because the only guy who’s going to rush you down left and the only “rush down” you’ll get is from Adrian’s Blacheart.

True, but that’s not completely true anymore. While my rushing is not top-tier, I do rush with Sentinel. As well as with Storm although I like changing it up with Storm sometimes rush, sometimes run away, sometimes hit and run. Rogue, however, is all rush down (for obvious reasons) and she’s gotten kinda sick lately. :badboy:

Damn why you gotta be so serious baby?

Anyways, I am just stating things the way that they were. Local tourneys could mean nothing, or they could mean everything. You started getting better with MSP towards the end before you left for Seattle, but that was like a C game in comparison to what you were able to develop. So yeah, you got OWNED previously.

Sidenote, what’s with your jocking on Adrian’s nuts?

Because even after he came back from Seattle each time he was in town I got at least one BH OCV. repping the license plate

As you well know, I know how to gank matches from people. Anymore I’m really the only one who can come back from what appears to be a guaranteed loss. How many times have I hardcore stolen your wins…

Oh ya, your Rogue is pretty sick -.- I hate Rogue haha
I still think Juggernaut isnt worth learning if he wants to play serious =P Unless hes playing X-Men vs SF lol.

Ya you’re right, I was pretty bad. People beat my MSP with Iceman when I first got to Seattle… and wtf was unfly mode? haha -.- Sheeze

MSS FTW!

The summer I got to Seattle, I had nothing to do cause school starts hella late here. I played 3-4 hours a night for 2 months straight.

For some reason, my brain freezes when you play Blackheart lol. Actually just BH, Storm, Capcom. I do ok against team Watts.

Do you guys only come up to Powerplay on Saturday nights and that is it?

Pretty much, but other times too. Just depends.
