I don’t know how this will work, but I think it would be fun if some of us record inputs of our games and hosted them here. I’d like to see some rbff and sf2 inputs because I dont play them a lot and I like to watch them. Also everyone can see what other games they don’t play are like online. Might even have some bgs you want to put up here. Another ggs to lucky in VS. Hope to have some more ggs with you again in a3 to host.
Hold left control and left shift before someone hits “start game” w/ Mame/kaillera. If you get an error, make sure the /inp directory under mame exists, and isn’t full with 100 inputs for a single game (mame can’t count past 99 o.O )
Yeah, recording desyncs the game like 60% of the time for me, which is why I don’t do it much.
The upside to the recordings is that the lag doesn’t show up at all.
What happens to you guys when the other player records, do you still desync?
To fast-forward, F11 to see your framerate, F10 to overdrive/fast-forward it (f11 not needed actually). Don’t know of a way to rewind.
Don’t hit F9 to increase frameskip, too much of that may cause the replay to desync (f8 will decrease fskip if you hit it accidentally).
Edit:
Here’s some actual replays–a 3 way of Me, Deadlyrave-Neo and Sinister Cyclops in XMCOTA = Best 2 out of 3 then switch.
(fast forward through the first reset, Neo (p2) pics the wrong character)
I’m Iceman(p1) and Omega Red(p1), Neo is Wolverine(p2) and Colossus(p1), Sinister Cyclops is Sentinel(p2).
Cuts off as Neo is up a match vs Sinister
I’m Psylocke (p1) and later Storm (p1), Neo is Colossus (p2), Wolv (p2), Storm(p2) and Sinister is Sentinel (p1 first then 2)
Starts off Sinister (Sentinel P1) vs Neo (Colossus P2)
Next it’s Me (Psylocke P1) vs Neo (Colossus P2), and Psylocke catches fire for the next 19~ matches.
There’s a round that starts off slow (Neo’s Storm walking back for several seconds), dunno if he was distracted, ghosting or what happened there.
Storm (me) vs Colossus (Neo) also has some strangeness (my super won’t come out and when it finally does, I stood there surprised he was still frozen for that long).
It’s hard to give advice for you when the opponent is lag abusing you to the extreme. His controller is stuck on “up” apparently, must be defective.
Edit: Sometimes inputs can look “desynced”, if you are lacking the exact same rom version (there are multiple different kof2k2 bootleg versions for example), or have different bios. So if anything looks out of the ordinary when it comes to the inputs, mention it.
^^^Cant really blame him for jumping against Tizoc though since he has jack shit for AA’s.
Ive recently noticed the direction pad on my psx controller is messin up too, sometimes when I hold left or right, my character will jump randomly in that direction. Doesnt matter though, my sticks are coming this week

Poke a lot more. Use LP very often and jumping HP and HK to stuff me. These will allow you to go on the offensive and not rely on me making a mistake. Force me into mixups.
A few times you caught me with perfecty timed jump qcf+LP, keep practicing that with jump and A+B cancel. If I jump a lot, punish me for being predictable.
Unless you’re in the corner, backdash after I jump in. Dong’s Qcf+K/qcb+k mixup will be destroyed that way.
You were also knowing when to use c.A+B. Know when to use that, backdash, and the feint evade. Sometimes you would use them at the wrong time.
I know you’re just beginning, but try other characters to know what their weaknesses are.
EDIT:
I know there are some beastly tizok’s out there. Emma and Silence beat me with him. I’d ask them if you play them.
This should be a very entertaining input with a lot of close to call matches. A good amount of Chun vs V-Karin, then some Chun vs V-Ken and a little Chun vs Ryu followed by desynch. Its kinda long, but hope you enjoy it. GGs Lucky.
I don’t know the Chun vs. Karin matchup to well and got hit by a lot of jumping lk’s because of it. All I know that stops it completely with her is the counter but that’s just asking to get empty jumped…
Here’s my first batch of Last Blade 2 matches.
These were all recorded on kaillera’s GodWeapon server using Excellent (30ms) and MAME32k 0.64. Make sure you watch them with “Playback Kaillera Input” and set your MAME rom list so it says “Last Blade 2 - Etc Etc The” not “The Last Blade 2”.
Most people shouldn’t have to do this, but some people have the “The” button checked on the MAME toolbar.
Also fast forwarding/rewinding, etc is probably a bad idea, since it’ll just make desyncing more likely to occur.
It’s me on the left VS someone who’s usually good, but was drunk as hell on the right.
These matches are a perfect example of why not to play EX mode when you’re drunk.
The last match also does a good job of showing why Zantetsu is top tier. Although, again, it’s not usually that one sided.
Low-jumping, air pokes, throw mix-ups and air deflects play a huge role in the game. Anti-airs are relatively tricky to parry, so they still discourage constant jump-ins. I tend to get stubborn and try to parry them all the time anyway rather than just baiting a whiffed one.
If you’re not sure if they’re playing right, the match-ups are:
Speed Moriya (Win) VS EX Zantetsu (Ever have a match where you tried to read your opponent and all your guesses were right? This is one of those)
Speed Akari (Win) VS EX Zantetsu
Speed Kagami (Win) VS EX Zantetsu (Activated the speed combo special by accident near the end, waste of a free combo)
Speed Akari (Win) VS EX Akari
Power Amano (Win) VS EX Akari (Never play EX VS Power Amano)
Power Lee (Win) VS EX Yuki
Speed Hibiki VS Power Kojiroh (Win) (Great use of her dash throw mix-ups)
Power Zantetsu (Win) VS Power Shigen
I forgot how much of a huge fucking difference excellent makes.
Barely missed any links.
