I’m playing 3rd Strike online a fair bit and figured I would run a tournament
Game: Street Fighter III 3rd Strike: Fight for the Future (Japan, 990512, NO CD)
Emulator: MAME32++117
Client: November 1st
Date: Sunday December 16th
Time: 9:00pm Eastern Standard Time
Format: 2/3 Falls, Double Elimination. 3/5 Falls Winners and Losers Finals. 4/7 Grand Finals.
Connection: P2P (if there are P2P problems, a mutual server can be agreed upon)
Ping/Frames: Ping no higher than 50ms in a server and Excellent connection is required.
All brackets will be co-ordinated through #3Stournament on Efnet.
NOTES
Mandatory IRC rule is in effect. If you have come across players on Kaillera that play this game please send them a link to this thread and tell them to get IRC. I will not co-ordinate matches between IRC and Kaillera because people don’t want to take 30 seconds for a couple meg download.
The people that worked with me in the old Garou tournies know I run a pretty tight ship. We’ll be in and out in no time if everyone shows up on time and reports back from their matches in a timely fashion.
irc rocks! i think this tournament will be a lot more organized than those in the past! plus p2p too, great! and you can +m the channel when people dont wanna stfu and listen
You can count me in but I have some questions.
How is the gameplay? Is parrying worth it with the lag? What do I need to play? Can someone point me in the right direction for the rom and emulator? If I can get all this stuff going by sunday, you can count me in.
well if you’re in japan (according to your profile) i dont think its even worth a try cuz the lag will be TERRIBLY HORRIFIC…but hey go for it…you might want to get an adapter or something to use an arcade stick or pad…not many ppl can play 3s on keyboard…its pretty hard if you’ve never done it before
