Jwong's random ultras demystified

Having a little fun at the expense of someone who talked a bunch of mess and then had to eat some crow later on is pathetic? Pretty sure that’s normal for a lot of people that don’t have raging gayboners for Justin’s new haircut.

Am I on a full speed JWong hate train because he took 9th one year at Evo? No, that’s pretty silly I’ve only met dude once in passing, I don’t hate him. No reason to, he’s a good player, never did nothin bad to me. Do I find the humor and irony in him talkin that good shit one minute, then getting kicked in his chest? Why shouldn’t I? Besides, if any of y’all have a goal for this shit to get really big, get over this “YOU DON’T KNOW ME!” crap. If you’re a public figure, people will have an opinion. If you want shit to blow up, you’re going to become public figures one way or another.

Oh and btw, know who doesn’t have to worry about people listening to their inputs? Pad players. =p I play stick though, so I just try to mask inputs. I’ll do the motion for a command grab in Soul Calibur regardless of whether I’m doing the real move or the opposite break if I think someone’s listening to my inputs. It’s not something people typically train or try to take advantage of, if you’ve played in arcades for a while like a lot of us older players, it really does just happen. You just get conditioned to hear those inputs, or see those “tells” like with the QCF+LK baits described above.

I think Justin Wong was doubting his reaction a little bit. If you watch his previous match versus Vangief, there were several very punishable jumpins were unpunished. If you compared them to last year’s losers final versus Ed Ma, the same situation jumpins were met with an anti-air far s.fierce or EX Snake Strike.

Maybe this put a little bit of doubt in his reactions that day, and was mindfucked from his loss to Vangief. This made him more likely to jump the gun against GamerBee.

How the hell is it “cheap?” Do you even know what cheap really means? Gamerbee was able to completely screw Justin with just a few fake button presses. That would make listening to your opponents stick distinctly not cheap … even dangerous, as we’ve seen.

Or is tricking your opponent with fake button presses cheap, too?

Apparently, winning is cheap. Losing is the new top tier. Who was the first to lose at Evo? He/She is the true winner apparently.

Drop the White Knight act.

Cheap? Its a tournament, you’re playing to WIN. Who gives a shit if its cheap? I say do any and everything that isn’t cheating to win. Cause thats all what matters.

Who’s talking shit about anyone? Cry about it if you want, but I think I have some valid points here. I don’t feel like I have to travel to Las Vegas to prove that I have good arguments on this site. I might not play Super all that much but I have a decent track record in many other games, unpopular or not.

The point is Gamer Bee played an underused character and was able to beat people who were playing the full game (not SF4 minus 5 or so characters), so people can’t act like he gimmicked them out or whatever. It was 100% using his character the best he could and he came out on top. That is all I was saying. If you are so willing to get into a fight about it, look elsewhere.

I think people were just unfamiliar with the Adon match up. I saw so many people fall for Gamerbee’s safe jump RJ OS. Mike Ross fell for it three times in a row…I think it’s going to be harder for an Adon player to make it that far next year.

Wow.

Times really have changed.

Thank you, I’m glad somebody finally said it.

All these people are not only disrespecting Justin’s loss, but Gamerbee’s win as well.

That’s not low at all. It’s part of the game.

you’re a fool if you dont listen to button presses

I think Justin did well and Gamerbee did even well-er.

I play offline, I do keep my opponents stick sounds in mind when playing. Especially on occasions where I’m doing a blockstring or going for Oki game.

Not only is it smart play, it’s basically unavoidable and anyone who’s played more than one match offline should realize this. I went and played with a friend in person who I usually played online for the first time. After the first round he said “I think I have a bit of an advantage because I can hear when you’re gonna throw sonic booms but you can’t hear me on the pad.”

I don’t see how the fuck anyone could consider hearing things cheap. Should we all wear ear plugs from now on? Some people need to take a trip down to Domination 101.

you dumb, dawg. arcade sticks are loud. if you’re sitting next to someone you’re going to hear what they’re doing so it’s impossible not to deny yourself from picking up on their habits. i mean if you hear them mashing out a reversal what you gonna do, tell yourself you didn’t just hear that? get outta here with that nonsense.

Yeah, if I start hearing a stick rattle and buttons click right next to me, it is not something I can avoid.

Basically, it’s more natural for Wong to hear Gamerbee’s stick than to ignore it. I hear he was sitting down with his ear right next to it too. It’s just impossible to not hear it.

You and everyone else that have posted something similar to this are retarded. Justin clearly didn’t have enough practice against a skilled Adon, which lead to him getting a little shook and missing things he shouldn’t have. That is all. The fact that Justin said Adon was bottom tier based on about an hour of play time of an unfinished build of Super doesn’t mean anything. Its not ironic. It isn’t some great justice or karma. A single comment he made a few months back is irrelevant. People like you are just too afraid to ever be called a “Justin dick rider” by someone on the internet that you don’t even know, so you do anything you can to make it seem like Justin is a failure.

one more reason to use pad?

also, i can’t help but think of when playing offline fps splitscreen games and people looking at their friends screen to see where they’re at.

Ha! I remember back in the days of World Warrior when my buddy would pick Blanka for my Ken, I would yell hadouken and qcf lk to bait him to jump into an SRK.

I have the bad habit of saying “lol” every time I’m about to mash out something. If you have good reactions, you can block it. :frowning:

funny ass thread
whoever is complaining about the opponent listening to button presses hasnt been around

If listening to sticks and buttons were so advantageous, what are you going to do when your opponent knows how to fake it like GamerBee?
