Even though Gamestop was a tourney made fun off. It probably had so many SF4 entrants, it was ridiculous. Gamestop SF4 tourney helped the scene. It bought more players to take this game more seriously and that is what we want. A BIGGER COMMUNITY. Not a community that has like a couple of thousands of players. Also, because of the Gamestop tournament, A lot more people know about EVO. And also I think a lot of the top players did attend Gamestop but didn’t make it according to the rules with using a pad. So even though skills are limited, as a top player, you should adapt to the fact that you had to get good on a pad. But I guess the 15 finalists such as Jason Cole (OG in SF community), Floe(OG in SF Community), Mike Ross ( Most consistent WC SF4 player) are randoms. And the other 12 players that made it are new players who broke into the SF4 scene. That is good shit to them. But you can’t discredit the fact that Gamestop SF4 National Tournament was the real thing and it gave hope to people to take this game more seriously.
And lolz to me managing to beat Iyo, Not to be cocky, but I kinda raped Iyo, but I def did get serve to Daigo. I’m not on that whole stick with one character thing. I like to pick more than 2 chars to give myself options. I’m not from Japan, I am from America, hence if I did play Daigo at EVO, I will do better. Marn proved himself that he is more than a GGXX player, He proved that he can win in SF4 and YJDK about Marn. I like him over the west. You think he’s limited to just one char? Get the fuck outta here. Arturo is GDLK in sf4, even though he uses Sim which he is considered low tier, he still manages to win.
